There will always be mistakes and we should look to improve vetting, but the odd mistake doesn't mean the entire system needs shutting down or that nobody should be let in.
The fact that he was able to keep appealing until we said oh go on then rings alarm bells. Or the fact that a grown man who spoke no English travelled through many safe countries not in war to come here also.
Oh aye because ceder court in wakey would be absolutely rammed with guests if not. It's an outrage that hotel owners are being paid for rooms which would otherwise sit empty. I'm telling mummy
Just do a Google if you are interested. They have had up to 5 at one point since 2021. In the meantime, from last Saturday. The bustling pier. Huge queues for rides or not.. Struggled to get a place on the beach and prom cos of all those tourists.. It is very very low numbers to what is did attract.
Not the point though is it? Based on that we should house more immigrants in hotels that aren't busy funded by the tax payer.
Oh I've googled and can find nothing to corroborate your claims, I suspect neither can you. It's also extremely sad that there was a problem with power to some of the businesses on the boardwalk area last week. I know a few of the company owners were really pissed off at having to close. It was a right ball ache having to put everything back away that they'd ordered because of how busy they've been recently
You literally just intimated there WAS an open border immigration policy. On the same thread as quoting hotels full of asylum seekers. Which is it? Are we just letting them walk in and disappear or are we detaining them until their applications have been processed? And I don't think there's ever been a single person on here that has ever proposed a completely open border immigration policy. In fact I follow a lot of political debate and I've never seen anyone, anywhere proposing that.
Well if a fella can't speak English it's not because of the language. It's because they are treated better than anywhere in Europe.
Except that's factually incorrect. At least financially and materialistically. Maybe some of us are actually more compassionate and friendly than others but if the fact we aren't ALL horrible bigots is something you think is a negative then I don't really know what to say
I'm not being ridiculous. We'll never get Labour out again. I'll come on here in 20 years and say I told you so. Votes for 16 year olds and votes for EU citizens (which they say they won't do, but which they will do) will secure their future. Plus the social and moral revolution that started under Blair will just be accelerated and finished under Starmer. Our schools, universities and institutions will become even more left wing. We will be a one party state. Many will celebrate this but I don't.
That's factually untrue. The majority of asylum seekers come here because they have family/contacts here. The majority of the rest come here because they speak English.
Oh no, heaven forbid we give 16 year olds a say in their future. They have more skin in the game than 80 year olds, so why not?
Just from even 1st page of Google. https://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2...hotel-owner-rejected-536000-to-house-migrants It got to 5 at one point and under pressure they are closing them.
Well the person I spoke about had neither family not here spoke little to no English. He must have been a one off.
The social and moral revolution? What's that then? Things they say they won't do but you say they will. Schools becoming left wing? It's OK for reactionary older people to vote but not 16 year olds who may be left leaning? And you say you're not being ridiculous?
There's plenty of 16 year olds who have no clue about or interest in politics. There's an equal proportion of 18 year old pluses that are equally vacant.
