Can anyone tell me why the main car park across from bus station is to be shut from 15th July to 5th August. That’s going to be a pain in the arse for people.

    Ground works, unfortunately that's unavoidable.

The plan looks really good I’m surprised that works start 2025 though I expected it to be like the town centre redevelopment which took about 15/20 years before coming to fruition.

To be clear - afaik ‘The Seam’ project was scrapped earlier this year, due to the costs involved.

This work appears to just be enhancing the current carpark, and making it better for users going forward.

Nothing else is planned from what I remember.

Must admit I’d missed the fact it’s been scaled back can’t remember it being published, I live a few hundred yards away.

There are two entrances to the lower section. The one behind the Courthouse, and one a bit further along near where the council buildings used to be. I’d guess the Courthouse entrance and exit is being pedestrianised, so would assume the one further alone will remain.

I never knew that, and I've used that carpark dozens of times.
