Hello All. I'm visiting for two weeks to Protaras. What's people recommendations on where to visit, excursions etc Cheers Lee
We go in 3 weeks 15th visit, got married there 5 years ago. There's a boat trip un you get off and swim in the Blue Lagoon. A trip to Famagusta to where the Turks invaded in 1974 is worth a visit. Plenty of nice restaurants and pubs on the strip and plenty off it. A walk to Pernira is also a must along the coast line about 2 miles to the centre. You will see a Church high on a hill 170 steps and once up the views are great. Anatolia on the top road ( just off the strip) is good value with set menus or other meals. Love Boat,Rocerfellas are good for entertainment- enjoy.
Fig tree bay loads of water sports eat at zefkas cafe and last I knew the No 1 restaurant was superb family run eating place Enjoy…..
Went 20 odd years ago, food amazing but nightlife none existent, on opposite end of the scale Aiya Napa about 5 miles away went one night carp music dance scene awful bit like why I’d never go to Ibiza.
Nightlife now lol,Aiya Napa is full of young uns and nightlife, they don't go out till 10/ 11 o,clock at night.
Recently came back from Cyprus but we were in Paphos. Its very hot out there at the moment. 29 degrees at 7am. Kind of restricts whats possible because being fair skinned, I have to be careful about exposure. We'll go a couple of weeks earlier next time we go. I know it's of no relevance because you aren't in Paphos, but just worth mentioning, if anyone else finds it useful, that the Wave Dancer 1 evening cruises from Paphos harbour were up there with the best boat excursions we have ever done.
I found Nicosia the capital intriguing , one of the only cities with a border . Going through checkpoint Charlie and looking at the old buildings in no mans land . Turkish side was cheap as chips too, with knock off nidgel selling bargain clothes. Well worth a visit.
Ibiza is a stunning island mate but most people just think of it as San Antonio and rip off super clubs
Protaras - pleasant and quiet. Cyprus a lovey island - Paphos, Nicosia, Troodos Mountains well worth a visit. Within striking distance of Aya Napa - much busier. Set off for a walk in the hills round Protaras but a lot of wild dogs roaming round..
