Just to let people know Dearne hall road is shut at the railway bridge by the millers a low loader lorry has hit the bridge apparently dislodging the railway tracks above! Signs up saying road closed but not stopping people coming down

Whilst we're on the traffic subject, Dearne Valley Parkway is mayhem near the Aldi.

Been an accident, hope all are OK.

Wow that will cost.. They'll be a truck driver looking for another job today. The drivers firm will cop for the lot, every bit of lost time non running, late delivery penalty's by he train company's passenger and freight as well as any cost for repairing the bridge/track.. They get the bill..

Just looked at Trainline there will be some major disruption to commuters tomorrow, how hard must it have hit it to dislodge the tracks

Must have hit it with some force to dislodge the tracks. Totally misjudged the height I reckon for that to happen.

I used to live next to the Millers. Hot pork sandwiches with apple sauce and a pint of Timothy Taylors on a Friday night. Lovely.

They get the bill...and pass to insurers, who pay out, then up everyone's premiums. We all pay for it.

I know the road is closed. But is the rail service still disputed? I.e are trains running from Barnsley to Sheffield still?

No, the bridge at the Millers is the Leeds line.

It's either leeds or Huddersfield line. Sheffield serves both via Barnsley. The bridge at Dearne hall rd. is on the leeds line. (Darton)
    Hudders goes via Dodworth.

I'm not even an amateur drinker but I do like the occasional pint of Timothy Taylors.
I'm going back to 1986 when I used to live there though.
