I actually think open days are a cliched thing of the past. I'd actually make it coincide with a home friendly. 9am to 11am meet n' greet/ signing etc. 11am to 1pm Kit reveal and watch them train etc. Sumat along them lines. Two days and rides and that is too much.
They’ve taken feedback from our club historian and decided to go with red shorts again which we’ve had once before last season in our history. I’m with Fired really annoyed at the red shorts it’s not Barnsley dare say we’ve played in black shorts more times in our history. If they wanted to go with something from our past that makes us unique just make the hooped socks permanent.
Who s the club historian they’ve consulted, obviously never seen us play at Oakwell , Red top white shorts , simple
So just to clarify. The club got a mixed response to last season's kit with the stars and red shorts designed by kidsuper and so their decision for this season was to continue down the same path? Bloody hell.
I like the idea of a fans vote on potential designs but that won't happen and there would be further slagging off of the club and other fans if it did. Personally I quite like em. I never buy kits anyway as I think they're a waste of money compared to t-shirts and decent keks but if I did buy I'd get the home shirt. Much more subtle than last year. My opinion of course.
If they want to give a nod to history.....we've spent over 90% of it playing in red shirts and white shorts!
Shirt and shorts look like two different shades of red. I wonder if either are a match for any of the multitude of red shades around the ground?
Exactly, RED AND WHITE are our colours. Allan Clarke's Red and White Army Norman Hunter's Red and White Army.
That's fair enough, but I don't recall this uproar last summer over the red shorts. I'd prefer there to be more white on the kit too, and in all honesty, Kid Super's interview last year didn't paint him in a good picture. But I just don't get the general uproar. It's not that big of a deal.
The shirt has been colour matched with the repainted East Stand car park sign. The shorts have been sampled against Ponte End Row G seat 76.
It's not a big deal for me either. But it would be nice to have our own identity and stick to it. If Man U turned out next season in Liverpool's kit, I suspect that my point might be made for me by many a Red Devil.
Glad it's not just my eyes then thought the same, mess about and experiment all you want with away kits but the home kit should be a thing of beauty Red white Red please ain't too much to ask.
The “explanation for the stars” is almost as cringeworthy as the kit. It’s an utterly contrived justification. The stars were an 80s gimmick. That’s where they should stay. The kit is more Liverpool than Barnsley. We play in red and white. It looks cheap and nasty. Whilst I was not a huge fan of last year’s kit, at least it was red and white and it appeared to fit the players. I just wish the people in charge would stop messing about with the basis of our club. We play at Oakwell not Grove Street. We play in Red and White, not all red.
I'm guessing we're just finding different things and reasonings to encorporate stars, can only think it's to appeal more attractive to the USA market, but in the process losing more sales from the biggest fan base, crackers
