    Why do security people wear them, surely it's not because of the sun in this country. Just watched the Wimbledon finalists being escorted through with sun glasses on. Or is it a I'm a hard man feeling.

    I always assumed it was so that you couldn't easily see where they were looking.

    It's a combination of both. Means they are never dazzled by a bright light either from the sun or even a spotlight or floodlight indoors but also means they can look around without people knowing where they're looking
