What a wonderful idea to have a few designs and see which will sell more. Although the way they have done it it's open to being abused by opposition fans voting for the worst design on purpose.

I've always thought this idea should be tried by our club.
Give us fans a choice of 3, and see which is the best and most popular, and go with it!.
However, you can't please all the people, and it would still get negative comments.

Am I imagining it or we did this one year with the away kit?

Unfortunately, I fear if we did this, those who never intend to buy a shirt will vote for the most outrageous option and sales would actually fall. I'd be all for it if you had to pre-purchase the shirt to get a vote and if your choice wasn't the winner you got an immediate refund so you could decide if you wanted to buy the actual winner.

A camel is a horse designed by committee (or referendum, in this case).

Admittedly I'm probably never going to buy a shirt (although the pink one? Maybe...), but I like the fact that ours have gone a bit out there over the past few years, and JAQ has the fashion chops to pull it off.

As long as the home shirt is mostly red, i think it's pretty cool to experiment. But like I say, I guess I'm not really seeing them as garments to wear.

If we did that our unobsessed neighbours from S6fingers would vote for the worst design. And that's guaranteed as they have about 350 million (about 0.00014% of their total fanbase) who lead such sad lives.

Good idea. You could make it a fiver deposit which would be enough to put people trolling the vote off. Then make it an offer where staking a fiver in the vote gives a £10 discount off the final price. Might be difficult to implement but would be great for sales and engagement I reckon.

Like our obsessed fan base did to them about 10 years ago?

I guess the easy way around that is to open it up to season ticket holders only, or have a system where you've to physically visit Oakwell to vote.

Says they've done it for a few years now, and the response has been great, though in previous seasons, they've given you the option to pick all 3 kits.

All of those options are considerably better than our kits too.

You can pick, but sadly it's still Macron.
