My grandson (14) plays fullback. For his birthday last year this is the shirt he wanted and got. I must admit I'm proud of his admiration of a top footballer.
Retro is in at the minute yet there’s only a few clubs doing “remakes” and using them as current kits. Instead of this modern fashion rubbish that our club did last season (I get it was retro based on a 80s shirt with a modern twist ) to then go in the compete opposite direction this season………why not go traditional and appease the fan base instead. This seasons is as plain as plain could be. I know some will like it but it’s not for me and neither was last seasons.
Love that people want Football shirts from before they were born. It's good when a fan knows what came before them.
I love a lot of the older kits we had. I recently got the cream Ora away top ready for the new season. One of my all time favorites we had and one of the first I can remember having as a kid. Got the Millennium year home one as well.
My 16 year old got the white Lyon’s cakes away from the club shop as a gift from my old mate who was over from New Zealand at the Reading game last season. He chose it over all of the kits from last season - I have to say it looks really good. He also has a lot of my old shirts (which may not all still fit me…) that he found in the loft at his nannas house, wears them as loungewear round the house. Mainly late 90’s to early 2000’s. He does a lot of lounging since he finished his exams last month so they’re getting a good airing…
I've got the 'new' retro Lyons cakes shirts plus the Ora one as I loved the originals. If any of you ever venture onto the TPT and you see a bloke cycling or running with an old Barnsley top on, that's me! Finally getting a bit more wear out of my stash of old BFC shirts!
My 12 year old got the red one and said exactly the same! They only do adult sizes so the small one is a little big on him, but not ridiculously so.
The new Wrexham kit is very similar to this. I would have been happier with this than the stars again.
I think to save face I'm buying George the home shirt, grey away shorts and red home socks with personalisation and insignia to break it up a bit.
Is that an original or a knock-off?? Don't remember replicas of the original ever being on sale, and I'm guessing match worn shirts are worth an absolute fortune.
£150 if you want the tarn version. https://www.depop.com/products/historicfootballshirts-barnsley-away-football-shirt-199596/
