Good Luck for whatever you've got planned for the future. Does leaving your job at BFC mean you're changing your username back to Whitey?
Bloody hell Andy, thought you would have been there for life and they'd be carrying you out of Oakwell(Sorry Grove St) All the best bud with whatever comes next, I agree though it's time for the weekly drunken podcast to return
Sad news. You’lll be missed by staff and fans alike. All the best for the future Whitey. At least you won’t have to pay attention to us moaning fans any more Whens the vlog starting again?
Well I guess someone’s got to take the fall for the global outage !!! seriously all the best YTBFC you can leave knowing you did a great job that didn’t go unappreciated
You navigated the challenges of being employed at the club and posting on here very well Whitey. No such constraints now I guess! Good luck in your next role.
Sorry to read this. Thought you did brilliantly with the communication from the club to the fans. Thank you also for the times you helped with issues raised. I do hope this means you are going on to bigger and better things if there is such a thing….. and back to being a fan. Good luck.
I so shocked by this. I really thought you'd end up like Rimmo, hanging around the club well into your 90s and passing time with anyone who wanted to chat. On a personal level many thanks for the help and drive to get the Hall of Fame and Oakwell Alumni off the wish list and into reality. Having a diehard fan working clubside is such a bonus and you will be sorely sorely missed. Take care and good luck in your next adventure.
Can I add my best wishes, there was a very noticeable upward step change in comms when you were appointed. Sad you're moving on but good luck with your next challenge.
Forgot to say thanks for your efforts over the years particularly all the times you went the extra mile for Barnsley fans.
All the best mate, always enjoyed watching the content that you were involved with. In particular during lockdown, the content you produced was much appreciated and helped me and I am sure so many others get through such a strange and difficult time.
One last request, plug the fax machine back in and swipe a few Colchester stubs for the BBS to use in future ticket scrambles. Best wishes.
First of all, thank you for the kind words. I only popped on last night because I felt like I needed to let people know I no longer work at the club. Saves me getting messages asking for this and that, or me being tagged in threads when I literally can’t help. But I’m glad that plenty of fellow fans felt I did my best for them where possible. Didn’t get everything right, and certainly upset the odd person unfortunately. But that’s life. And as I said, this was my decision and I hold nothing but love and affection for BFC and my time at Oakwell. Eventually you feel like you’ve given it everything and need a new challenge. I don’t know what that is yet, but that’s exciting to me. I’ll need weekends off though so I can cheer Darrell and the lads on. In terms of being a critic on here, or resurrecting my hobbies of years ago, absolutely not. After so many years behind the curtain I’m sure people will appreciate that I won’t be on here digging out the club or its staff, players or decisions. I’ll still post where I see fit, but more likely to be defending everything and offering opinion that explains why this or that is happening. We’ll see I guess. I just want to chill for a while to be honest. I am 42 next month. I’ve lost good friends in recent years, seen others’ lives or relationships strained by the stresses of work. I just want a more peaceful existence and to actually enjoy the fruits of my labour. I’ll probably be run over by a bus when I go out this afternoon now I’ve said that! Can’t reiterate it enough - get behind the lads who pull on the shirt and support the staff leading them.
Enough of the soppy sentimental stuff when are you going to start with the good stuff like skeletons in cupboards, body's under the patio, Conway and Cheins hotline to the new board, Cryne juniors expired Microsoft office licence causing the spreadsheet to throw out Hourihane and Roberts as signings to make this summer, The councils plan to build houses on the pitch at Oakwell to hit government targets etc etc etc
I have checked with Stagecoach and there are no reports of an accident. Just to ease the minds of everyone.
