Have you had any issues with that pal? I had some proper grief off them for putting a gate up. They made me rip it down. We considered extending our living room to the garage but wasn’t sure if they’d kick off.

I don’t think anyone’s criticising the fact that they’re our sponsors. Just highlighting their experiences with them as a house builder.

if it was BMW, some would moan their indicators don’t work, but still see them as a great brand for the shirt.

Most people seem to like the fact that they’re well known and their livery looks good on the shirt tbh.

Those Big Thing kits were my favourite. I'd love to have one of the green ones (if anyone has one in a medium and fancies selling... let me know!).

Looks miles better with a sponsor. Will probably get the home shirt now. They just need to sort the shorts out!

They come up on ebay every now and then, and occasionally are well priced. I got the home one for £30 not long ago. That was an XL mind which are usually slightly cheaper. And it buries me.

The green big thing away top is one of my favorites. I need one in XL but whenever I've seen them listed online they have been very expensive

Having worked on a variety of new build sites over the years, I can confirm all house builders are garbage. I once did two weeks as an assistant site manager on a Bovis homes and I spent the whole time taking doors off the hinges from one house to the next so they could show it was complete and ready for sale, taking off kitchen cupboard handles and putting them on next door…
I have also worked for Gleeson, Keepmoat, Wilmott Dixon and Lovell. All rubbish.

Agreed. Don't know what ya getting with being first in a new build. Let someone live there first to give it the 24/7 living in it and then buy a few years after.

It's a race to the bottom these days, I wouldn't touch a new build outside a handful of builders who I probably couldn't afford.

I once went into a plot to find the labourers sweeping it out. I thanked the labourers for getting it ready for us to start mist coating. They sheepishly told me the carpets were going down that morning. :)

Jesus, never mind nothing in it, good job there was no-one in it. Surely there are health and safety laws they have smashed with that abject failure? It feels as if they should have had their àrse kicked in the courts for that.

I picked the mrs up from work this evening and on the way home we remembered a few other bits. You expect snags with any new build property but the shoddyness of the work blew our mind. It got to the stage we just felt we was being “karens” about the whole thing, until we joined the estate Facebook and saw everyone else having the same issues. Our garage wasn’t the only one on the estate to have not had the roof fitted correctly, I’ll take some photos of it tomorrow to show you the state of the brickwork.

Other bits are the first phase of the development, around 80 houses, we all have a downstairs bathroom. Unfortunately, you wake up in the morning and the smell is awful. Too many flat spots in the pipework causes the waste to sit stagnant.

We recently dug our driveway up as it was so small we couldn’t park a car on it. So we extended it and when digging the grass up to lay some hardcore we from a full pvc window frame which they’d just thrown in and buried it.

This was our first new build purchase, I’d never ever buy another. We’ve spent 10s of thousands putting jobs right that we should be covered for, but when they fell out with Barnsley council they completely ignored any email we sent. Magically 3 years later they just turned up out of the blue and started building again.

BMBC took them to court over the driveways, they won. They were told to rectify every driveway or compensate the homeowners so they could do so, because if not they will never be allowed to build another house in the borough again. We’ve still not received a penny, and our driveway has never been rectified.

So even though you'd never contemplate buying a new build you are buying a new build.....
