    Agreed, but I was specifically referring to their pre-season momentum.

    Maybe we'd have built on that PV win with better home form if we'd actually had a pre-season?

    You're probably right. But even if for example we double his wages from £3k a week to £6k a week, that's likely to make a pretty big difference to his life / pension pot, depending on what he decides to do with the extra brass.

    They've beat a few non league sides comfortably in pre season , and have had a good season last year and I think they will stay up comfortably, and that will be a good season for them but they will be nowhere near the top 6.

    We are still a step up for him

    Hope we go back in with another bid for him. I might be wrong but I’m not sure our strike force will be hitting 20 this season so we will need other chipping in regularly. Phillips will hopefully get 10/15 again so if we bring this guy in as well, could be another goal scorer.

    Statistically the best attacking midfielder in League 2 last season so he’s definitely earned the opportunity. Hope we can pull it off before, as you say, someone else realises. Dan Kemp would have been on that list as well but he’s chose Stevenage.
