Barnsley Football Club is delighted to announce the formation and inaugural meeting of the Fans Advisory Board (FAB), with Kelly Drury elected as Chair and Steve Brain as Vice Chair.

This significant initiative underscores our commitment to fostering closer relationships with our dedicated supporters and ensuring their voices are integral to the club's future development.

Further to previous statements of intent, the FAB has been formed to provide a structured platform for meaningful dialogue between the club and its fans. The members of the board were elected by supporters who attended preliminary meetings and represent a wide array of interests within our fanbase. The FAB members and their respective areas are as follows:

    - Away Ticketing / Traveller: Kelly Drury

    - Disabled Fans: Martin Wilson

    - Diversity & Community: Phil Hall

    - Hospitality & Sponsors: Dominic Wood

    - Season Ticket Holders: Steve Brain

    - Supporters not living locally: Curtis Ledger

    - Supporters Trust. Paul Gallagher & Heather Linney

    - Youth & Children Supporters: Robin Harris

    - BFC Representative

There are three additional positions which will be filled on the committee in the coming weeks. Details on who these positions will represent and how to apply for the vacant spots will be published on www.barnsleyfc.co.uk shortly.

The creation of the Fans Advisory Board represents a fantastic opportunity to enhance communication and collaboration between Barnsley FC and our supporters. We believe this board will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our club by providing valuable feedback and insights.

More information on the FAB members will be released shortly, including their contact details and methods of communication. We look forward to the positive impact this board will have on Barnsley FC and our entire fanbase.

I think I'm tired after a long first week back. I saw the name of the "Youth & Children Supporters" representative and read it as Rolf Harris...!

My mate and me always joke about travelling up and down the country for decades watching the reds, but still seeing new faces at games. You’d think you’d know every face by now, but you can always get sat with someone you’ve never met, but yet they often know the people you know.

I know a couple from that list, a few post on here, I’ve seen Steve Brain at games, but not Kelly. BBS member??

Steve and at least 2 others are regular posters on the BBS. I'll leave it to them if they want to come clean ;)

Ha! I know Curtis is on here, and I also know Martin Wilson, he and my mate are visually impaired and played blind cricket.

Would have expected one of the independent travel/pub organisers to be involved…..maybe to be put forward in future

Kelly sits a few seats away from us in the Ponty. Her dad really disliked Scott Jones and Nicky Eaden back in the day, but loved Chris Morgan so much we suspected that they were related.

Is it a prawn sandwich brigade or will it be a an actual focal point for the common fan to raise issues?

Definitely not a prawn sandwich brigade, if you or any other fans have any issues please raise them with the FAB. Please note I didn't say common fans, because as far as I'm concerned we are all fans and all equal.

First thing in the agenda should be free prawn sandwiches at all future meetings

    I'm Steve.
    I'm coming clean.
My Dad took me and a beer crate to my first match when I was 5.
As Northern Dreamer has said already, further contact, and other, details for each of us will be on the Club Website shortly, but in the meantime, get in touch on here if you wish.

The initial announcement covers purpose and strategy I believe.
How will the Supporters Trust (which is still a thing) work with the FAB? The ST has two members on the FAB Group.

Well said Steve. I didn't need the beer crate as I was 12 when I went to my first match, having just moved to Barnsley and never having been to a football match. My Dad said he'd take me to a football match (Reds v Bournemouth, August 1969. 1 - 0 win, Allen Bradbury with the goal). I've been hooked ever since. Season 55 coming up!
