Years of running down the asylum system by the previous government have contributed to the delay in processing applications, which was the Tories intention all along in order to drive division and hate, and given the disgusting actions over the last 6 days by the far right seems to have worked wonderfully
Bang on. Racial and social division was the last thing they had to give them hope of winning so they made damn sure to keep the system broken.
If you go to a protest organized by the far right fascist scum, you are supporting, empowering and encouraging them. If you stay at the protest after it kicks off, you are far right fascist scum. This is not difficult.
Footage of a group of police officers, backs to the wall, behind their riot shields while to their left people were breaking in to the Holiday Inn suggests that we can't rely on the police to make a stand against the far right.
They did the job....albeit outnumbered until reinforcements arrived. Its a naieve assertion to think allowing pitched battles between two groups will do anything but escalate the situation and get a lot of people hurt or killed.
Agreed, not sure what people are expecting the police to do given how outnumbered they are and the cuts that have been made to numbers over the past few years.
Oh absolutely. You know this. I know this. Farage knows it. Mick Lynch knows it. The parallels between Farage and Mosley are uncanny.
It was also a coordinated ploy to split the police ranks - protests were also arranged in Doncaster (1 turned up) and Sheffield (not many more) so the police were split into 3 places while the main group of fash turned up at Manvers.
Yep and with riots taking place up and down the country it's not as if other forces could step in and help.
I think this could be labours COVID, the Tories failed with COVID and if labour gets it wrong it might be their downfall too.
It has been proved over and over again, immigrants do more for the GDP of this country than 'indigenous', they takes less in benefits than locals and they provide more in taxes than locals.
If anyone doesn't believe Farage is culpable for yesterday's events... This is from 2020: On an overcast day in late July Nigel Farage, the eurosceptic, anti-immigration leader of the Brexit party, tried and failed to stay at a hotel in Worcestershire. “I tried to book a room at the 4 Star Bromsgrove Hotel & Spa, but it was closed to the public”, he wrote on Twitter. “Turns out it’s accommodating 147 illegal migrants and we’re all paying for it.” In an accompanying 10 minute video Mr Farage could be seen travelling to the site on the alleged urging of local residents, while making a number of claims about the state of immigration in the UK. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...mmigrants-hotels-worcestershire-a9648746.html
