Yes. Of course, but I guess like any of these price questions. Price of season tickets, shirts, pay on the day tickets etc There's also the argument that we have to be able to compete financially on the field. The average first-team budget in the League has gone up to something like 5.3m last season from about 4.4m the season before. That's the average. If we want to compete at the top end, we have to find that money somewhere. I guess there's a question of ambition and supporting the club versus having everything at rock-bottom prices. We can't really do both. It's a difficult balancing act from the owner's point of view especially with the growing financial problems some of our community experience. Maybe we'll see early bird offers for the concourses, as I think this price point WILL put a lot of fans off, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this is the optimum price to maximise concession revenue. Something the club have to do to compete. Not sure what the answer is to be honest.

The thing is though, they throw money away by not having enough staff on, or running out of beer. They could make far more money by shifting significantly more at slightly lower prices, or even getting their act together and shifting more at these prices. I think they see the queues, and the fact they run out so frequently, and think they should up prices because the demand is there. I don’t know why they can’t then make the leap to that if there so much demand despite queue length and prices, they could sell even more if they got more organised.

    Speaking of prices and Saturday.
I usually go to Silverstone for the moto gp but with the boxing being something different and the venue and boxer being from Barnsley decided to make a day of it so went for a hospitality package that the club had put on site got tickets for the DX corner stand.
The other half has recently gone vegetarian so emailed on Thursday to ask if there would be options, got no reply so phoned on Friday spoke to commercial who said there would be food choices and a couple of vegetarian options thought that sounds like what match day hospitality is like so all sorted.

How wrong was I no food choices food was chips, pie and peas over heard various conversations between staff that they had had phone calls from downstairs regarding vegetarian option so I went and asked to be told yeah we have one it's rice with something asked what the something was and no one had a idea, luckily neither of us have and allergies food wise so we had what there was.

Then came the 9oclock platter asked what that was chips, with a choice of burger or chicken slider so asked what the vegetarian option was and simply got a reply of a shrug of shoulders and there isn't one she will have to have some chips. .

Had to laugh just got on with the evening and enjoyed the boxing, emailed the club today to give some feed back.

No reply off email so phoned on the Friday morning. [IMG]

Yep agree it was more the none choice and dietary option of food that I had confirmed before the event by commercial.

The desert was cheese cake so it's a good job that neither of us are lactose intolerant.

I had to laugh more than get annoyed as didn't want it to spoil what was a brilliant atmosphere and occasion.

I was in there and they offered me a vegetarian curry as an alternative to the pie and peas. (On a diet so was hoping for something less calorific than pie). Enjoyed the evening even though Ive stopped drinking for health reasons and cant drink diet coke either so was a bit limited on low calorie drinks options I can drink (kidney failure and raised sulphates) Soda and dilute orange it was
Didnt see any vegetarian alternative to the “platter” though. Sounded grander that it turned out to be. A slider and 4 chips

Yeah did sound more grand than it was.
I found the shrug of the shoulders and she will have to have chips amusing.

You were lucky to have orange cordial was talking to a bloke at bar and his missus wanted a vodka and orange he was told there wasn't any orange.

He said so there's no orange in the whole of the venue just orange of any kind just to mix it with, nope there isn't any what else would she like.

Also weird as I saw fresh orange cartons in the Fridge at one point as I was searching for something to drink. Maybe they ran out?

Thanks, mate. We paid £180 plus vat. We never received an email. Hospitality/Commercial never phoned us back. When we got there we were told that there was no food included!!!

    Absolutely disgusted.

I worry for the existence and benefit of this FAB group before it has even had chance to take shape.
I thought when announced the idea was to create a stronger bond between the club & fans by involving fans opinions.
It seems at the minute every time someone has a gripe the answer seems to be to give to FAB, if you’re not careful you will all turn up with a list longer than a Gleesons homes snag list!!

Was that the Boxxer hospitality where you got the two hours free bar access or the club hospitality package?

    Hello Gally

We did have really good seats in the lower tier, directly in front of the ring and a few rows behind the head coach and players.

As far as we know, it was the club's hospitality package. We had no communication, no emails, no reply to our 10 phone calls.

No-one knew what was happening, from the car park attendants, to the guys handing out wristbands, to the staff in the lounges. It was a total and utter farce.

This is the email I got on Thursday to which I first made enquiries about food options as it staded to do so in the email but had no reply.

When we arrived bloke on gate said have you got ticket for in here and can I see it as don't know what they look like and we couldn't get in because they had no scanner for the ticket so a supervisor turned up and said to one just take the tickets off them I said to him that was all well and good but the tickets had the seat allocation on it a scanner turned up so we then got in we didn't need wristbands but a group turned up with wrist bands on so I ask him if he was sure he was in right place as nobody had said where they needed to go, he went to check and there group left.

Like you say the organisation could have been better to say the least and maybe inform staff of things rather than getting a good shoulder shrug and I don't know answer. [IMG][IMG]
