Having seen the unrest up and down the country, would you still consider attending such a “protest”

I’m sure you are not comparing a catastrophe created by nature, and a deliberately created carnage instigated by fascists. Really don’t see the comparison myself.

Yep.me too. My kids were quite surprised at the vitriol I hurled at BNP boneheads during a demo in Norwich 20 odd years ago.

Unfortunately there’s a large unseen trafficking of women into the country- they’re in brothels though not holiday inns. No one should be happy about anyone arriving in this country on a boat, because that is an international criminal enterprise which funds drugs, human trafficking and all kinds of unspeakable things. Stopping the boats should be in everyone’s interest.

Cool. So we stop making it difficult to enter the asylum programme, process them quickly when they get here and Bob's your Uncle. Removes the people trafficking and the deaths at sea in one fell swoop.
Plus a streamlined processing system means we pay less for having them staying in hotels, the ones that are allowed in start earning and paying taxes quicker and the economy gets a boost.
    I'm all for that.

Well I think humans did have a hand in covid, but it could prove labours downfall if they don't get it sorted out. For me being elected was a poisoned challis no sane party would want. I just hope labour do as they say and turn things around for the better of the country.

Let’s hope so. They probably have the worst situation to deal with since 1945.

We are currently in Carrickfergus and yesterday we cycled into Belfast. Thankfully we left there and cycled back before the racist rioters started throwing petrol bombs. I know that Belfast has seen it all before but the city we saw yesterday has turned it's back on the troubles of the past and does not deserve to have it return whatever the motivation.

MPs from all sides have called for Parliament to return, they are right Sir Kier, recall Parliament now.

What evidence do you have to support that belief?

I think you'll find that most of the predictions made by the Remain campaign have proved to be correct. "Project fear" was in fact "Project reality".

I think I’m right in saying that they only need to recall parliament if they need to vote on something. If the action being taken falls within the current laws/powers of the government then there is nothing further to discuss.

A very fair point I think what the remain campaign was most guilty of was been blase it's in the bag attitude. The decision was far too big to be treated as it was by both sides for me we were given a question no one truly knew the answer to.

If you get chance I recommend the fish chowder in Ownies - sooooo good, I'd have it as starter, main and pudding if I'm ever in there again.:D

Well, I’m pretty pleased that despite some political back and forth on many other threads, only 3 people are willing to out themselves.

Sounds great, but we've moved on now, we're in Cushendall about 35 miles north of Belfast on the coast. Beautiful.

Fair point mate but it would be worth it if only to censure Farridge.

I only know Ballycastle up that way; unfortunately I can't recommend anywhere particularly to eat there.
