    Set to join Charlton on loan apparently

    Hopefully it is the Man U lad we actually want

    EDIT: apparently Vitek and Sol Brynn are other options being considered

    Honestly, I'm pretty happy we haven't got this lad on loan. His performances in the nations league, EFL cup and championship over the last few seasons were more than alarming.

    It did feel a little odd to be replacing Smith with someone with even fewer games under his belt.

    5 games in the EFL on loan at Reading a few years ago and thats it. Has caps for Estonia sure but not much league football at all.

    Wonder if the Man U lad that was mentioned before is still an option? He was on loan in the EFL last season

    Would prefer someone who’s played at this level and played well. I was made aware we were after Brynn once we realised Roberts deal was falling through in whatever way. Brynn was brilliant at Orient last season and like Roberts, will earn a move to the Championship in years to come.

    The other argument is to bring in a keeper with experience to work closely with Jackson Smith. Christian Walton has played very well at this level but will have suitors.

    Brynn is young but had a few loans now in the EFL and Scotland and has done well so played plenty of games, I would say he is pretty experienced. He is probably the best option of the mentioned loan targets imo.

    In terms of older more experienced options that are feasible, the only ones I can think of that are left are Marosi or Bialkowski. I can't see how we would be able to afford Walton's wages unless Ipswich paid a huge chunk of them.

    Either fine with me. Brynn had several very good loans out and knows the league.

    Vitek very highly rated at United, had EFL experience and is super tall which I always love in a keeper

    We had a 3 man shortlist hein was easy as he didn’t have a great loan at reading so no one wanted him but when Begovic turned charlton down they swooped in ​

    Don't mind missing Hein if we get one of the others mentioned as I think both are better options on paper, but it just depends if they an sort one of them.

    I guess that means we’ll be in competition with Charlton for a keeper.

    I would certainly take Brynn. Don’t know much about the Man U one.
