Just read an interview with him on my phone. Don't know how to transfer it onto here, but take a look at it. Its another good insight into a uncomplicated man with an uncomplicated outlook on man management and footballing philosophy. I'm very much liking the cut of his jib and looking forward to more positivity and passion from the players in his charge. Think his background and attitude will really win over our fanbase. No bullsh1t, open about what he wants (promotion) and recognises that the clock is ticking. Proof of the pudding and all that but its always good to engage in a bit of hope and excitement about the future prior to season kick off! COYR.
Yeah, he seems like a straight talker. But tbf so did Michael Duff. Will definitely help him to build rapport if it translates to what we see on the pitch. Won’t mean owt if it doesn’t though.
I'm impressed so far but let's see what happens from Friday onwards. If we lose that one I hope the fans don't turn on him straight away. I think we will beat his old team though and I will be driving back up the M1 smiling and looking forward to the rest of the season.
Just found this. Apols if shared already etc https://www.skysports.com/amp/footb...onal-motivation-and-being-a-fraud-as-a-player
I like him more and more with every interview he does. Exactly the kind of character I want in charge of my club. I just really hope he does well here.
Ye That Micheal Duff that took us to the brink at Wembley. Did a naughty on us but our assessment of his management abilities wasn't wrong mate...I like Clarke cos he quietly makes ya feel it's all in hand...
I think he'll be like a breath of fresh air after last season, we just need to back him with a bit of directness and quality up front.
Enjoyed reading that, it gives great optimism that at the very least, we will give it our all. Thanks for posting it
I think both Duff & Collins both came across as honest ex-footballers who are prepared to graft and get stuck in. So we are doing something right in selection and interview. Duff didn't have the integrity maybe, that Collins had, but Duff had more L1 wherewithal than Collins whose cautious approach was maybe down to time away from the EFL. So far Clarke has shown honesty, integrity and a real work ethic. I have a good feeling about him and regardless* of League position this year hope we keep him for season 2. *Unless we drastically crash n burn.
Thanks for posting, but left me cold. Equally positive / really good interviews from Collins last season including a dose of realism about the ups & downs. It will be more of the same this season, with the results being most important then closely followed by the style of play. For me, it's going to take a long time to forgive the club for how Collins was treated and the retro fitted claptrap reasoning from Mladdo was cringeworthy. Just looking forward to our return to Oakwell, getting behind the lads who'll be doing their talking on the pitch where it really matters
Does seem to be a great fit for our club let's hope he's successful and dare I say it loyal. The club think he's the right man so if it doesn't go right straight away I hope they show some loyalty too it's a two way street.
