I see his name in the sqaud list, It was suggested that he had overcome his injury, I may have missed it but I don't think I have seen him start or participate in pre season, what has happened to this lad?
Another one along with Benson who we need to be, as unfortunate as it is, more ruthless and just get shut. They'll still have a chance at finding a new club. If anything, we'd save on treatment costs. It's a shame for the pair of them, but we can't carry anyone.
Based on what I’ve seen I’d be happy to give Benson one last chance to show he can maintain fitness. His first few games in the Championship when he was effectively a replacement for Mowatt suggested to me that he was up to it. Some players just have some long spells of being injured, then they eventually come back and are fine. It happens, doesn't mean they are permanent crocks.
Wolfe deserves as long as he needs. (As does Benson). Honesty and integrity goes a long way in my book. After relegation he admitted his head went down and he didn't put as much in as he should have. Didn't shirk it like he did on the pitch. Admitted his faults and took it on chin. You can't hang people out to dry. It's just wrong.
It's not hanging them out to dry though, they'd have their contracts paid up and they'd have the opportunity to find another club whilst the window is still open, or as a free agent after the window closes. Benson has been injured since he arrived practically, and Wolfe, fit or otherwise, isn't good enough to get into our midfield anyway.
He's made 78 appearances for us in fairness I think there's a player there and I'd love him to be an option for us this coming season
