Can anyone recommend one. I’m doing a bit of research into it and the Simba ones (similarly Emma) seem to come highly recommended I had always been a bit cynical of them as they advertise so much I had assumed you’d be paying a lot for that…. but they do seem to get a lot of good reviews; that said that could also be a marketing ploy any help appreciated cheers
They are very expensive,go and see John Armstrong on Summer Lane town centre. He'll sort you out with a orthopaedic bed to suit you at a reasonable price.
Dreams used to have a trial setup in store, you can test quite a few and it will suggest based on your needs
Big shout out for Simba, Cheffie. Had ours three years and the support across the whole area of the mattress is excellent. I don't think we could go back to any other now.
I got an Emma one last year and I feel it's made a massive difference to my back issues. That's not to say that theirs are any better than anyone else's, but in my experience it was well worth spending money on something that's likely to make a big difference to one's quality of life over a long period. I think both Simba and Emma now offer 200-day risk-free trials too so you've literally nothing to lose.
I presume there must be some T&C's about not soiling the mattress too badly? A bit like when you get a car on HP.
I used to sell mattresses and the Simba/Emma ones are a bit Marmite so be sure as they're mega expensive, I would recommend a good mattress of a minimum of 2000 pocket sprung with a layer of memory foam and vents, this allows air to circulate through the mattress, we have a 2000 pocket sprung mattress and it is one the best purchases we've ever made, remember you spend a good deal of your life in feather so make the right choice.
Simba Hybrid Pro, great initially and for about six months, then started to sag where you laid. Firm as anything around the edges (sitting to put yer socks on) but completely lost its support. Made a complaint, they sent an 'engineer' who said the mattress was within tolerance so in their eyes nothing wrong with it. Binned it and went to Dreams and got some Silentnight thingy, best mattress ever.

We've had a Simba for about 8 years. We sleep well enough on it, but as others have said it has sagged markedly where we lay. This started after about 2 years and us getting slowly worse. We've considered making a claim, but there's no point as apparently the sagging is within their tolerance. Poor quality for the price, not up to the job in my opinion, wouldn't buy another one.
I suffer with back problems and bought the Simba mattress which is similar to Emma. Was really comfortable to start with but after about 6 months started sinking aNd after 12 months felt like I was in a hammock. I am not a particularly heavy bloke either. Would never touch them again. Bought a proper pocket sprung Hypnos mattress and nearly three years in its as supportive as the day I bought it.
Everyone who is saying their mattresses are sinking, are you turning it every month or so? Most don’t need flipping these days but you should still be turning it 180 degrees.
Yep, you can actually see that we've turned it regularly as the depression is equidistant from both ends. To clarify, it's still fairly comfortable and we sleep well on it, but visually it looks a mess.
Try Barnsley Beds on Huddersfield Rd. Dave just ordered me one ,made to measure for the motorhome, but also had mattress topper fitted ,200 quid which I thought was reasonable. Working well so far ,I've had bk trouble 30 yrs
