I’m giving it a go tonight as I’m not keen on the walk to my usual parking place tonight, for various reasons. I know about the 30 mins before kick off rule but what’s the earliest time anyone has parked there? I suppose an early arrival gets you closer to the exit gates, or has that all changed now? For a fiver it’s worth the experiment at least once, just to see how it goes.
There are 2 exits furthest away from the ground… one for a right turn and one for a left… you’re best to park near either relevant exit. Many people don’t stick to the rules however. The main delay on Saturdays is because Ponte Road is almost gridlocked. It shouldn’t be too bad on an evening so it should be a steady flow meaning the whole car park will empty quickly. I usually arrive about an hour before KO an get parked up about 6/7 rows from the front near the right turn exit. Good luck
I’ve been in there before and wasn’t impressed with the exit rush. I’ve a long drive back to York so would rather let that die down first. Ten minutes is neither here nor there.
You imply there will not be a delay for evening matches, but last season the gates did not open until away coaches had departed. Mansfield bring7a decent following tonight.
Take a book to read I park in there regularly, usually in the top half, facing the ground. It’s a bit of a ‘free for all’ with people parking all around the outside so no one can fill the empty spaces in the middle. Also, if you’re unlucky enough to park behind someone that doesn’t return to their car for a long time after the final whistle, you’re not going anywhere in a rush. On other occasions you can be out in no time!
It’s always quicker getting out on evenings. The main problem is getting off Grove St on to Ponte Road which is a lot quieter at 10.00 pm than at 5.00.
I'm having to park there tonite. gonna get down for about 7 in the hope of getting a good spot for a quick exit. it's the hope that kills us!!!!!!
