Hope the person is dealt with. Never seen a game abandoned so late on.

I was at the game, never seen anything like it. From what I hear even some of the Thorne players were disgusted with their own teammate.

Good statement. Whoever it is will be gone no doubt about that. If his own team mates heard it he can't deny it. His career in Football is over.

Well it's all with the Northern Counties East League and the County FA now. If proved the lad must be facing a lengthy ban at the very least, and they'll also have to rule on the outcome of the match.

Guessing it will have to be replayed. 1-0 to Thorne at the time.

Did the players walk off. Ref abandon it. Or both. Did the ref hear the remarks. If so, surely a sending off. Regardless.

Not sure about at that level, but I believe the result stands if the game has passed 89 minutes.

Time was pretty much up, the 4 stoppage minutes were coming to an end then the Briggers got a free kick midway into Thorne territory. The ref was talking to the player readying to take the kick, so he wouldn't have heard anything.
Then before the kick was taken there was a fracas in the box and the Brig skipper turned and started walking towards the dugout. He was met by the coach who after a brief conversation immediately called the Briggers off.
The coach and captain then walked over to talk to the ref and after a brief exchange walked away again. The ref then blew the whistle and abandoned the game.
I did hear that some of the Thorne players heard the alleged comments and told the referee so, but that's conjecture at this stage.

If the allegations are proved I don't see how the result can stand. The game clearly wasn't over as Brig hadn't taken their free kick and no one can say with certainty that they wouldn't have equalised from it. If Brig have been denied that last opportunity as a result of racism by Thorne, how can Thorne be allowed to keep the points?

I'll be honest, I'm not sure what the protocol is for a game abandoned due to a racist comment, or whether such thing exists. You'd hope there was something.

Last night, the club attended a Disciplinary Commission Hearing relating to the recent allegation of racism made during our NCEL game against Club Thorne Colliery
    The case was proven.
We want to thank West Riding FA kickitout & Club Thorne Colliery FC for their support & cooperation.
I Lee Morris Juninho Blake & Owen Cooke for standing up for what is right as there is no place for racism in football.
I want to say thanks to the many fans that offered us support & we can now move on & focus on football.
