Even Donald Trump thought the opening ceremony was a disgrace lol.
So it must have been bad if even he says so!!.

Looks like we will finish with our worst number of gold medals since Athens 2004. We usually get 20+ but we are way short of that.

But well on our way to having our 4th highest total of medals since the Olympics began, only a handful short of 2012 and may well end up the top European nation despite France having the home Olympics boost and GB having a much smaller team than Germany, France and Italy.

Worst Olympics of my lifetime, be glad when it’s over.

-shambles of an opening ceremony, kids were watching that ffs!
-Controversy at the Women’s Boxing, not once but twice!
-Very poor performance by Team GB in the Track & Field events.
-Not enough Golds & accepting Silver medals.

    ….Paris you’ve let yourself down, meh…

Yeah it didn’t have the same Buzz of London & Rio for me. The last Olympics were a non entity thanks to Covid, & this one has been terrible. Especially the athletics, just boring. Lacking that Bolt factor.

Steve Cram totally getting it wrong in his women's marathon commentary! Love it, an amazing achievement to win gold after getting two other medals this games!

    Agree!
Coverage has been excellent - good to see KTJ getting on the podium - the Chinese divers amazing despite being a bit robotic - superb performance from Tom Daley. Best in the pool Katie Ledecky - best athletes Kipyegon (3rd gold medal.) Duplantis and Yee - and well done Keeley Hodgkinson and Tom Pidcock.
Good to see so many 'peripheral' sports getting publicity - kayak races entertaining.
Biggest let-down - the flawed judging system in the Boxing.
Biggest mystery - how the cycling Madison works.

    Thoroughly enjoyed an amazing spectacle.
7th on Gold medals, 4th on Silver, 2nd on Bronze, 3rd on overall medals. Pity we couldn't turn a few of those silvers into Gold and a few of those Bronzes into silver, but I enjoyed watching every medal we won, even in sports I didn't know existed prior to these games. And I didn't watch a single second of the football, which I still think shouldn't be there. The Olympics are the pinnacle for every other sport, not so for football. Futsal would be a much better fit. Anyway, was a pleasure watching some absolute heroes representing GB, of all colours and backgrounds, the antithesis of the crap that was happening on our streets and a reminder that things aren't all bad.

Good points well made. Opening ceremony with a religious mockery, Boxing chat taking away from the Boxing, some iffy Boxing decisions, worst gold medal haul since Athens 2004 and making dancing an Olympic sport. The weather was poor for a lot of it too.

At least in four years we can moan about being asleep during most of it.

Absolutely loved this Olympics, the crowds were amazing and the women's basketball was a scintillating end. I'll be sorry when the closing ceremony finishes,Paris has been a stunning city to host, every venue historic and full of support!

Me too. Some people will always be negative. Best to stay away from them and the rest of us get on with enjoying things in life

3rd in overall medal table. Fine margins between gold/silver/bronze, plenty of them so near to being upgraded. So not a great Olympics for GB, but not a bad one either. Loads of athletes have given their all just to fall short of medals, got to be proud of our team, as always.

Overall though, I don't think it's been a great Olympics, probably compounded by the fairly poor broadcasting arrangements.

Enjoyed every moment of the Olympics , some fantastic performances across the whole spectrum of sports, imo it's an achievement just competing with the best in the world, never mind winning a medal, roll on '28

Got to say I’ve really enjoyed this olympics. It’s felt the most human olympics I’ve watched for a long time.

There’s been loads of times in the past where it’s been hard to believe what I’ve watched from a doping point of view.

Hopefully the testers have caught up to the dopers or at least minimised the doping. No more ridiculous Russian doping or a tiny island like Jamaica absolutely destroying everyone at sprinting only for nearly all of them to test positive.
