At last! The hearing into the 115 charges against City is to start next month. About time. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-city-115-charges-hearing-33449283
Be surprised if they get anything more than a slap on the wrist. Small fine and maybe 3 points deduction at most.
I think the charges will be reduced by at least 70/80. A lot of them are just late referrals and refusing stuff etc. I do hope they get punished severely, but I have doubts. I honestly don't think they're gunna wanna keep up a precedent
All to do with the Uefa coefficient. They'll get their wrist slapped, nothing more. They're worth too much to the other Premier League being in Europe and doing well.
There's emails where they basically admit to cooking the books to disguise owners' funds as legitimate sponsorship.
The fact that the hearing has been brought forward probably indicates City's challenge to the APT rules has had some success. The emails aren't admissible as the legitimacy cannot be proven or the source is admitting to exfiltrarating them from City's email system which is illegal and not admissible. The American cartel that is the Premier League cannot be seen to lose face so I'm guessing a deal will be struck, small points deduction which won't impact City winning the league for the 5th time in a row, a fine and transfer embargo for 2 or 3 windows. If found guilty, it would mean high ranking officials in UEFA and senior executives in global multi national companies have colluded and therefore must go to prison. Won't happen. Don't believe the media bias, do some research maybe then find out for yourselves that it's mostly wind and piss.
If the hearing is next month they’ll probably just get a transfer embargo until January and perhaps a 30 point deduction next time they play in the Football League
Incorrect. The Premier League has the power under its rules to require City to provide any documents/information which it requires to investigate any suspected or alleged breach of its rules. It commenced an investigation following the leaks and requested that City provide relevant info and documents. City sought to resist this disclosure in every possible forum and ultimately failed. Therefore City have to turn over any relevant emails etc. themselves and the initial prompt for the investigation is irrelevant. I think you should take your own advice and properly research what you're talking about.
'Hacker threatens to release more emails.' Hence, it is an illegal exfiltration exercise that was then paraphrased and taken out of context by a German newspaper. The 115 charges cannot be built on or make reference to these emails at all, as UEFA found out. The full disclosure of corporate communications has been passed over. The charges are based on an accusation that Citys accounts have been knowingly falsified over a period of 10 years based on lying about the value of contracts. And not cooperating in a timely fashion. These are audited accounts submitted by a large reputable financial accountancy. And the contracts are with large global organisations, not just Abu Dhabi. The accusations are of the most serious nature and involve hundreds of individuals allegedly calouding. It proven, yes City should be severely punished. If not or if a deal is struck, let's just move on ffs.
What you are suggesting in your first 3 sentences is incorrect. Any relevant emails that exist will be disclosable and relevant evidence capable of supporting the charges. And the ones leaked look very dodgy.
If you look up the CAS decision over UEFAs 2 year ban, they agreed that the leaked emails that formed the basis of the ban were insufficient evidence and that after City disclosed the full content of their communications it was deemed that there is nothing in them that suggested they had disguised owner investment sponsorship etc. So the leaks are already discounted and if used would form the basis of an appeal. ie pointless. I'm done for now, we won't agree, in my eyes City have done nothing wrong, 1 independent court has agreed on that, the Premier League was misguided in announcing the 115 figure, its really only 5 charges but now the media peddles the figure and the ill-informed think there must be something in it cos the figure is so high. A deal is the most sensible approach and them you get to claim an asterix and City can carry on dominating English football.
10 week process now plus then a wait for judgement followed by appeals process if any might not get sorted until the back end of March early April. Can get 8/1 on city to be relegated with some bookies
It is open to the Premier League to reach a different view, and additionally some of the charges were not determined due to them being time-barred under the UEFA regime which is not the case with the PL rules. Also CAS ruled that the leaked emails were admissible, and it should be noted that UEFA's case was based only on those emails as there was no further disclosure in that matter, whereas there is wider disclosure in the PL case (despite Man City's best efforts to prevent it.)
