I would like to see news outlets like BBC stop referring to these riots as After the fatal stabbing of three young girls in Southport, riots broke out across England, and in Belfast in Northern Ireland. Whilst technically they did happen after it could suggest they were a genuine reaction, when clearly the ones after Southport were organised.
I’d like to see him banned but he’s before a Court and it’s up to the Judge/ Magistrate to ban him from sporting events . The Club need to concentrate on identifying those that commit crimes and racist behaviour in Oakwell or whilst following the Club away
Juddy G and anyone of a similar view should read the ‘Ground Rules’ posted on the concourses at Oakwell. When you buy a match day or season ticket it is on the basis that you comply with those rules. It should also be in the knowledge that the club can ban anyone, just like a landlord can ban anyone from his pub. If you don’t like it find another club or pub. Unfortunately all clubs are the same. Remember “Tango man” of Sheff Wed? The club banned him from Oakwell because he may incite disruption in the ground. In short the answer is just behave like a decent human being whether at football or not.
Yes, if we banned everyone with a criminal record from Oakwell then the Ponty end would be empty tbf.
People want this lad banning but are happy for that Grimey Reds idiot to keep attending and taking our supporters up and down the Country after at least 3 instances where he has assaulted fans in the stadium.
I think you’re going down a slippery slope when you start banning people from Oakwell for an involvement in a riot. They’ll rightfully miss a lot of football whilst serving their sentence. Unless their crimes have actually been in the football ground or they’re seen as a threat to people within Oakwell (for instance a convicted peadophile been close to children) then I think the club should stay out of it. The law of averages says there will be some men in the ground who have battered women, their might be a rapist or two amongst 12,000 or so home fans, there was an incident where a Reds fan was killed by a punch in town. In theory people guilty of these three crimes can all attend games at Oakwell once they’ve completed their sentences so I really don’t think the club can be playing judge & jury & banning people for longer than their prison sentences for rioting.
Do you honestly believe almost everyone in the Ponty end have a criminal record? Loads of my mates sit there and not one of them have
With respect, I totally agree with you except for the fact. None, to my knowledge, proof has been put forward to anyone only accusations. Or else I'd have thought he'd have been banned. The incident with the supposed infiltration of a wendy fan? I would have thought, given where it was, would have CCTV proof. ? But It seems though, in defence of your statement. that he's not ready to defend those accusations given I'm led to believe he used to post on here. Strange. Given the fact as you say he runs an independent branch. I'm pretty sure I'd respond.
This is something that really really annoys me about our club. I won't focus on an individual because I've seen nothing personally but generally speaking why the **** has there been complete radio silence from the club about it? Where are the banning orders? As you say they've got CCTV and were ordered to operate it better specifically regarding that section of the stand so why the **** haven't they announced any banning orders or even asked for people to identify anyone? The club lets itself down massively with it's self governance of criminal activity at Oakwell, it's one of the things I'm most ashamed of with the club.
I'm pretty sure that DJ Fatty Boys wonderful diagram of the Ponty End was printed in West Stand Bogs at some stage - was that bullying? I'd ban him, and anyone else convicted of racism. Or are we back to singing about Bambo's dick again?
