My flight from Manchester was cancelled yesterday at the departure gate. I booked a replacement flight from Luton (and a hotel). easyJet sent us down in a taxi and said that they would cover the cost of the flight, accomodation and meals (up to £1000 per head) with receipts.
Has anyone on here claimed from easyJet before? Maybe I'm cynical but I expect it to be a hard process. Any advice or tips or advice would be much appreciated. I expect that we will be reimbursed with vouchers, and probably not the full amount.
After a hard night we're now in Prague and my daughters have stopped crying.
Heading out for a well earned pivo.

No problems when our flight was cancelled. Filled the forms in and got the compensation. They arranged the hotel and next day flight though.

Keep receipts for EVERYTHING. Under EU law you're owed up to €400 per passenger on top of your expenses, depending on the distance, and the airline know this. They should have an online form on their site for such instances, but it's probably very well hidden.

As we're no longer in the EU are they still compelled to comply? Just wondering.
Maybe they have to if they fly to EU destinations?

Yep. The EU just has to be either the start or end point to qualify.

I had to arrange our our flight (with a different company) and the hotel. I'd prefer that easyJet did it for us.

It's not a hard process and it's all automated in line with EU regulation. It's more problematic when you haven't booked direct and you're trying to chase a travel agent that is registered in the back of beyond.

I did it with Austrian a while ago when they cancelled a flight from Vienna to Klagenfurt and bussed us taking all day rather than 1hour. I just filled in the forms and got repaid without any question. I think Which have an online template if there isn't a claim form on the Easyjet website. It should be repaid without any question They know the flight was cancelled and you were supposed to be on it - not sure it works so well with Ryanair mind
