I watched the WBA game the other day and they had a right back playing on the left, the commentators kept mentioning he was more comfortable on the right.
So maybe they’re wanting a left sided player and Styles fits the bill.
Left sided international with championship experience. What’s not to like?

Definitely contact inside the club but they’re on the peripheries of what’s happening. Got a few things right but also a lot wrong. Thing do change in football like.

The level of "ITK" knowledge often claimed on here, contract and fee details, could only come from having Mladen as your best mate.
Some folk spend their days/nights trawling every bit of social media, picking up rumours, putting 2 and 2 together and getting 176

We’d signed Nombe for nearly £1m and had another offer in for Al-Hamadi at around the same price, apparently. In reality, we ended up with Cosgrove on a free transfer.

Just amazed if we have turned down WBA offer. Crazy if it's true.

Just take the cash and player, and loan him out if he is crap.

Just get rid, he ain't playing for us again.

    Barmy.

What's not barmy is getting the best deal possible. Whether West Brom or anyone else. The offers banded about are just assumptions. I'm pretty sure the club will accept less than the get out clause.

It could backfire spectacularly though. We could end up with nothing, and a player who just runs his contract down, whilst also blocking budget to bring someone else in.

In these scenario's if Styles' head isnt right - then he should be done for breach of contract and his pay should stop - assuming this is the case - I'll assume he's still taking his weekly BACs payment?

That's why I think he will go b4 the end of the window. But you are right as with every other club chasing players, they may look elsewhere. Then we are back to the January window where clubs will wait if others are asking too much. I remember this site being critical of what lots saw as under valuation having our pants taken down. Now we see people saying take whatever is thrown at us. When the present board said that isn't going to happen.
Given the fact Styles doesn't want to be here. And his performances out on loan, suggest 2M is now a fairy story. They hopefully will get summat. He's beyond the age of a development fee.
He will absolutely go out on loan if not sold imo. If only to get his wages off the bill and I don't see him being stroppy enough to not want to do that. He will be looking at his international career. He wants out as much as the fans do.

Aye. I can't see him kicking another ball for us. I know DC said he's in his plans, but I just can't see it. Position untenable now. He's lost the fans. Would need a remarkable turn of form to turn that round, and frankly I just don't think he has that in him.

We were in all likelihood making offers though. I'd guess we sign maybe 2-3% of the players we make contact with, make offers for, and agree wages with.

Until it's done, it's all up in the air and liable to change

Certainly not for us. Carke says he understands the predicament Styles is in, But in his words. "I won't cold shoulder him"

Should he not go I can’t see him coming back in unless Clarke is happy enough with his training/attitude. In which case if he’s happy to bring him back in then that’s good enough for me. I feel like the board are trying to hold out for players market value these days, for too long clubs could swoop in and take advantage of our reputation for selling on the cheap. I think that’ll help us get better value for players in the future.

All I'll say mate, is try and refrain from posting things as fact. A few people on here will either take everything you say as gospel, or use it as a way to pull you down if something doesn't happen exactly as you've said. Even if you trust your own source of information. This particular thread is a prime example of that.

It's not pulling him down, or at least I've tried not to, it's more the disappointment of him stating something as fact that then doesn't happen - that's all. All of the potential incomings I mentioned I would have loved at the club - but when they don't happen, then it's disappointing.

I think the WBA thing was just a polite enquiry from the Baggies and they were given an equally polite no from Barnsley, they then came back with a deal with Faal and again they were rebuffed, it happens.

I tell you what, if you just want factual confirmed transfers, stick to the official club website solely.

If you want to not spoil one of the best sources of potential info and even at worst, strong gossip that we have from the club, then shut your trap and stop the hate.

I wasn't referencing you specifically, mate. It was just his reply to you that I latched onto.
