Just down to costs and cost savings?
Whilst it seems obvious that somethings will be,such as how much we can pay players and transfer fees etc and have strict limitations.
Without this turning into a bashing the club I'm realistically trying to understand what has fallen behind due to costs and what is just a lack of focus.
The catering and matchday experience whilst showed some improvements isn't a patch on some clubs in the division, it's been mentioned tons of times on here and on Q & A's at live events, how are we getting it so wrong still when the owners have awareness on this

Media output, I appreciate the media dept has lost people, was this cost cutting or will they be replaced because at times it lacks updates and communications, if its a short term issue due to staffing then fair do's

Sponsorship boards have gone, when working they looked decent.

The list goes on really there's lots of stuff, whilst i appreciate people at the club do try hard but we don't seem to be able to get a grip on some reccuring themes especially around the whole fan experience from actual matchday to all the media engagement in-between, especially for the younger generation of fan.
The game has changed now and some won't be too fussed and just want to rock up and and watch the game and that's fine, but others want a much more inclusive experience, which we just can't seem to maximise.
At the end of the day packing Oakwell out as much as possible and maximising revenue (at fair costs to fans) should be a priority towards overall turnover, is it a lack of focus and somewhat laid back approach or is it underfunded and needs a more speculate to accumulate approach?

It’s hard to compare to other clubs as we only really tend to see the away ends which is an after thought by most clubs. After seeing what Accrington and Fleetwood offer their home support, we can do so much better.

Prices are a weird one. Lincoln last week we’re offering better lagers than we offer at £1.50 cheaper and reasonable food prices. That might be a one off but don’t remember seeing £6.50 pints. Wycombe last season had pies costing £9. Not sure if the food is a country wide piss take at football stadiums.

One thing, again comparing as an away fan at these grounds, is the way they set out their bars. Charlton, Huddersfield and Blackpool are all horrendous just like ours and those are clubs with facilities. Peterborough have a tiny kiosk smaller than non league Scunthorpe United and have a four man toilet for 1800 fans.

We moan, rightly so but as a football fan we all get treat like **** everywhere we go. Rip off prices, walked around like animals and tarnished with the same brush as criminals at times.

But I do think ‘cost of living’ is used quite frequently at the moment and a lot of time is an excuse, especially at football clubs that charge £17 for League Cup games and nearly £30 for Mansfield at home to offer nothing in return as a paying customer.

Well i took grandkids to meet the players and i am sorry but if this is better than the old open day forget it. Waited 10 minutes under 2 hours and queue never moved, kids got crabby so came away, why do they try to mend things that aren't broken

The catering is ****. Badly managed , badly staffed and badly executed

have you ever seen anyone who has any semblance of management about them in any stand on match days?

all there is is folk on the turnstiles , stewards and halfwits serving food and drink at a snails pace.

Each stand should have a manager walking round keeping check of the “experience”. Ring Pipers Grove school or whatever it’s called and pay some of their dinner ladies a few quid to spend a few hours on a Saturday to whip the youths into shape. And if the staff don’t like it and don’t come back well it may be a good thing.
