I think the lad from Arsenal linked on loan and the French sounding number 10 from Brighton under 23’s are more realistic than some of the names we want but who knows? It depends if we wanna spend the cash.

I wouldn’t rule out an EFL journeyman to offer us a James Norwood type option.

This isn't about childish 'agendas' though is it!.
Its fans coming up with a number of genuine reasons, as to why they are so disappointed with the way the club is being run these days.
Both on and off the pitch, and it shows no signs of ending soon!.

Aside from the lack of a striker signing or two I’m really miffed at the poor comms coming out of the club these days. I keep saying it but the lack of acknowledgment of the passing of Alan Little nearly two weeks ago has really angered me. Southend, York and Donny obviously have a conscience and regard for popular players/managers that have served their clubs. We don’t and it stinks.

This point always baffles me mate. It's as though people think the staff/owners actually don't try or do their best, or want what's best for the club, I just think it's bizarre people actually believe it

I fully believe our owners want to do the best for our club. They're passionate about Barnsley FC, they're prepared to put their money in (£millions, literally), they're nothing like Chien Lee and Paul Conway, who, from what I've seen, and imho, are not to be trusted (I'm happy to evidence that). But, unfortunately, after giving our owners a fair old crack of the whip, willing them on, hoping they'd do well, I just don't think they're very good at this. I'd go as far as to say that they're particularly bad it. I take no pleasure from writing that.

Pretty sure Pines was someone Collins suggested. I can't evidence that, but I can 'logic' it.

Yeah they are really bad at it, and how much worse is it going to get, and for how long etc.
They know we've got no other options, so we are stuck with them, and for a long time, unfortunately.
I know they aren't as bad as messrs Conway & Lee of course. And they do have a positive vibe about them, which suggests they do mean well and are trying their best etc.
    But...

I'm just not sure I'm ready to write em off yet mate. They got it almost spot on in their first season and was bad refereeing decisions away from the championship, I wonder how different we'd feel about them now? Now they've hired some appropriate figures instead of just having Khaled do everything. Even last season, despite a lot of fans believing it was poor( which I tend to agree with overall) we still finished in play offs, and we kept hold of Cole, Kane, Williams & Cadden, which in the past, we'd have almost guaranteed would be sold with only 12/6 months left on contract previously (especially with the goal scoring form Cole was on back then) we can say it backfired now obviously because we didn't get promotion, but had we sold them in Jan there would have been an uproar amongst the fans, hindsight ey. I think the signings this pre-season have been very good, we've so far kept hold of important players & I love the addition of Clarke as manager. The striker situation needs sorting out though, hopefully as soon as possible, but as I said in another post, I'm not willing to call the window rubbish until it closes just yet. I think our new personel in place just need time. They haven't had long at all.

What I think is seriously adding the the problems though is 'small' details, running out of beer, crap/late communication, stuff like that. I get communication is a recent thing in regards to everyone needing it here & now like it were pre-interweb, but it shouldn't be this hard to sort out. Details like this matter to fans, and it needs sorting, there's no reason it should be this hard to do

Well... people, almost all people, get better with experience. That's part of the human condition. You do something a lot and you get better at it.

How much worse is it going to get? If I were a betting man, I would wager things will get better. Because that's what usually happens. There's very few people who do something a lot and get worse at it. I'm just hoping they're fast learners. Unfortunately, they seem to be bucking the trend at the moment....

Looking across leagues 1 and 2, I can't say I've seen any other teams that have done much better than us without either spending silly money (Blues) or ending up with characters who we probably wouldn't much want (Blues and Rotherham). Throw in Huddersfield maybe, because it feels like they fit in here somewhere but I haven't really been paying attention.

It doesn't feel great at the moment for sure, but maybe that's just how it goes. People are losing their minds at every signing other teams make, but which of those players would we really have targeted?

I have a lot of issues with the club, but even I can see that they're not so incompetent that they'd let the likes of Manny Longelo go to Cambridge if he'd really been top three or so on their list of targets.

Imagine being a West Brom fan and complaining about missing out on Callum Styles because they wouldn't pay the fee.

When we signed Norwood, and definitely when we signed Hourihane & Roberts. I thought hey that's not bad, a good bit of experience in the squad, instead of the ridiculous u23 rule they used to insist on.
So it seems that at least, is a change for the better.
I also didn't blame them for what Duff did, and he even came out and said (at the time) they did all they could to persuade him to stay etc. But then, why did he make a few digs at us/them recently with those comments.
Maybe they got it wrong in fairness, by appointing Collins. But they sure as hell handled it wrong in the way they got rid of him, with the timing etc!.

Duff may have been angry at all the fan reaction since, especially the glee in which alot of fans took when Swansea lost and when he got the boot mate. I also don't think his claims have any substance to be fair, ofcourse he's saying what Huddersfield fans want to hear, but now he also has a record of lying/talking out of his arse, mate

Yeah I can understand if he/Duff was peed off at the reaction to getting sacked, but who cares ehh lol.
But his comments since then, whether they were true or not, have showed him in his true light, and have somewhat ruined his credibility.
I wouldn't trust a thing he says or does from now on to be honest.
And as much as footy fans do criticise some former managers or players (for whatever reasons). It regularly happens the other way as well, where they also go mouthing off at their former club owners, and fans!.

Years in the game, l think I've played at better clubs than him.

He made a mess of the Mansfield game, let's see what he does tomorrow.

It's not just recruitment for me mate. I totally get the difficulties in the transfer market and we're not the only club impacted. Nonetheless the one disappointing aspect for me so far is that we haven't brought a new striker in when the club knew full well Cole would be leaving and McAtee wasn't our player.
There's also issues like the poor media output, the food and drink prices increasing, car park prices increasing and it would appear this was done without prior warning, staff can't be arsed and look like they don't want to be there. What happened to service with a smile!

As a collective they must be one of the least experienced in the league in terms of running successful businesses so that probably doesn't help I guess. I do agree with you Jay that they are really well intentioned, but it's certainly true that they are badly struggling.

Some have walked away from being regulars home and away, that’s not results driven the general feeling is we are being run into the ground!
In my 30odd years watching there’s been more low points than high but it feels like the place is dying

Was gonna go tomorrow, but what's the point. We're gonna be starting with last seasons 3rd and 5th choice strikers and they've put the price up by 2 quid. I think this transfer window, they've just took the absolute píss out of the fans and new head coach.
