Gave the young un a choice of Cineworld or the match today. After the Mansfield £39 rip off l was hoping he was going to choose a film (£17 for Adult and Child) shocked to see an Adult and Child ticket for today's game £23 in the East.

    That's more like it Reds.

He's still making his mind up though.

Quick edit, it's now showing £24 and £9....

    Cineworld it is.

Maybe the two tickets at £24 were up until yesterday.

They've no idea about pricing, it's third division football.

I’m kinda on the fence when it comes down to ticket prices, on one hand it seems way too expensive for families to take the kids to a match nowadays but then on the other we want to see the club competing in the transfer market and players wages (plus the general running of the club) so I understand the need to generate more money,

Crazy prices, surely most families in the town can't afford that kind of outlay regularly?

Good points but we are charging more than we should and aren’t competing in the transfer market.
Something seriously amiss at the club, silence and poor service on every front.

Not sure what I did there but it didn't work!

I'll try again, I have an adult and Child (under 19) ticket going unused if you want them.

PS don't want anything for them, happy for you to have them.

    Car park pass as well...

I get that but if they adjusted the prices ( down) they would surely get more footfall thus getting more income that way and a better atmosphere.
I don't like these kids for a quid offers either if they are open to misinterpretation , there could be quite a few disgruntled parents at the ground today if they just turn up expecting to pay a quid on the gate!
I don't necessarily blame the club , its a football problem in general, clubs are being forced to pay more money to compete but have taken their eye off the incomes of a lot of the fans that they need to subsidise it!
Its particularly bad for us at the minute because we are seen to be not rectifying our shortcomings and playing some clubs who it has to be said are not a great attraction whilst we are not yet convincing on the pitch.
Also bear in mind the outlay when to some it will be a choice Northampton today or a local derby against the blunts on Tuesday!

But we have an half empty stadium.

I'm pretty sure our owners would be happy with one fan in the ground paying 200k for their season ticket and buying one pint of madri for 100 quid

All valid points to be fair which I can’t disagree with, be interesting to see how we compare on match day ticket prices with the rest of the league.

Lower prices and 15k every match would generate more interest and additional revenue than higher prices and 11k in the ground.
Despite actual ticket income being similar, a 15k crowd would contain the future lifeblood and income source of the club.

Is it the norm for all clubs to charge more for pay on the gate. ?. I was once also told clubs can put special offers on to home fans a limited number of times without having to offer the away fans similar prices.
    Edit
Found this although from 2011. It's in the FL regulations.

The Football Supporters’ Federation has received numerous complaints this week from travelling fans of Football League clubs upset that they are being forced to fork out more than the home support. Football League clubs are obligated to charge away fans the same price as home fans pay in equivalent areas except on four occasions per season when they are allowed to offer so-called “local promotions”. (Rules vary throughout the football pyramid and local promotions are not allowed in the Premier League.)
