Morton is on loan from Salford, mate. He scored 0 league goals in 30 games for Salford in league 2. Had we signed him on loan from a league 2 side with that record, fans would be fuming. You sure you're not getting him mixed up with Tyler Morton, mate?
How much more can the do called fans stick the boot into the club??!!! It's a new manager, new team, very early doors, yet your vitriol, anger, spite, insults, and the imperious fallacy that we should be beating everybody....only serves to demotivate the players and the fan base who are giving their best. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Grow up, accept it's not an easy task and we can't win every game, if you think we should I would advise you to go follow them at S6 they're the experts at "we should be beating teams like' Sorry, rant over...and breathe...
Happens all the time. We start going places, then the rot sets in. - Get to the Prem - admin soon after. - Get promoted to the Champ and build a good side under Robins - sack him off and get Keith bloody Hill. Get a homegrown manager in Hecky - sell the family silver. Stendel - "best window ever" Get Ismail and try for Play Offs - get a PE teacher straight after.
Otherwise the other players would be jealous that he was playing well and they’d be disheartened and feel left out.
Strikers **** again Scott, conceded 4 goals at home ,Collins was ***** too negative football . Have a re think about us defending and leave the strikers alone. We scored twice today ,and marshy got 7 minutes I guess we need Ronaldo if we're going to concede 2 games at home town hey .we'll done Watters I was so pleased you scored.
Been saying this for a while now. Off the field we are pathetic, the owners don’t have a clue, the matchday experience is a shambles from top to bottom!
Desperate day for us really. We have problems throughout the club. Poor board decisions over a number of years. Poor recruitment. Lower league scrapper managerial appointment. Feels very much like a managed decline. The end of a cycle that started in the late 70s and threatens to put us back where we started.
We need a running central midfielder. As I have become a stuck record about. Otherwise the only option for Connell/ Hourihane/ any centre back whenever we get attacking and sometimes quick possession, is to predictably either toss around sideways with it, or lump it forward. Because they can't run forward with it. When it's lumped forwards either Cosgrove has nobody near him (he usually clears it for their defence anyway), or Watters shows no conviction towards doing anything threatening. Given that Watters is quick, why does he never try to take the ball on past a defender? Strange. Anyway, we deserved a point today and got one.
Given how good our midfield is, both home games it’s been quite poor as a unit. So many times already there’s been so much space in the middle. I’ll be honest, when it went to 2-0 and we had a few more chances to make it 3, I thought we were cruising and would be ready to give Yoganathan some minutes. Not only were we on top, they didn’t really look like creating anything in the second half. But we somehow threw it away. Will have to watch the equaliser back but I saw the ball floating in the box and our keeper coming out and thought “oh no”. Oh no indeed.
We were cruising. They didn't look like scoring. Then Clarke made his subs and went to ****, we conceded and at that point always looked like conceding again rather than us scoring. Clarke has to take a lot of responsibility for that.
Having had health issues recently, and with close friends experiencing real tragedy, I am struggling to get worked up about today. I enjoyed being with my lads and seeing some old friends, but the football was just as poor as it has been for, it seems to me, a long time. I have resolved to go along and just take things as they come. The club clearly does not have the resources to make things significantly better and, in some ways, I suspect that the owners are just treading water, hoping that something comes along, but doing the minimum to protect their investment. But one thing is clear to me. Football is not that important in the scheme of things.
Another worry for me is that imho, for 2 successive home games we have had our backs against the wall for the first 20/30mins. I'm really not sure what is going on but this seems to be a thing inherited from last season. As I mentioned in a previous thread there is a massive amount of work to be done and although its early days we need to start with the very basics of passing a ball.. We are obviously desperate for strikers of someone near the standard required in this division but bloody hell our midfield has been rubbish these first few games.
