Jordan Williams Signed for Portsmouth - Championship Ever present Started and completed all 5 League games Subbed after 64 minutes in the League Cup game Portsmouth haven't won a game Devante Cole Signed for WBA - Championship Hasn't started a League game. Came on as a 76th minute sub in their opening League fixture. Unused sub for their next 3 league games, dropped from the squad for their last fixture. Started in their defeat to Fleetwood in the League Cup. Withdrawn after 72 minutes. Callum Styles Signed for WBA - Championship 82nd minute sub in the first game after his transfer, dropped from the squad for the second. WBA remain undefeated with Mowatt an ever present in the side playing every minute. Carlos Corberan seems to know his onions. Herbie Kane Signed for Huddersfield - League 1 Second half sub in the first two League games, started in their victory over Morecambe in the League Cup. Not made the squad since, believed to be injured. Nicky Cadden Signed for Hibs - Scottish Premier Missed the first few games as didn't sign up until August Came on as a half-time sub in their 3-1 defeat to Celtic in the League Cup. Started the following League game but subbed after 64 minutes. Dropped and came on as sub after 62 minutes for the next game, back in the side for the last match but subbed after 62 minutes. The Hibs manager clearly likes a 62nd minute sub. Oli Shaw Signed for Hamilton - Scottish Championship Started all 6 League games scoring 3 goals! Plus another goal in his 4 appearances in the League Cup. Only game he didn't start was against Dundee United B in the Scottish League Challenge Cup (whatever the hell that is) when he was brought on as a 76th minute sub and managed to bag another. The standard might be questionable but at least he's doing summat. Having said that, Hamilton have only won 1 League game. Robbie Cundy Signed for Notts County - League 2 Came on as a sub in the first league game. Played the 3-3 draw with Shrewsbury in the League Cup, subbed late on. Entirely absent from the squad for the next couple of games, maybe injured, then an unused sub, and then a rare start. All went Pete Tong very quickly though as Notts County conceded 2 goals in the first 6 minutes. Hauled off at half time with County 2-1 down. They went on to win 4-2, scoring a minute or so after the restart and again 10 minutes later. Maybe the first half wasn't all Cundy's fault, but it's an easy conclusion to come to. Semi-Splitters Watch Jack Shepherd Loaned to Braford - League 2 Four sub appearances in the League, one for a minute, one for 5 minutes, but the other two for most of the game having been brought on ifter 10 minutes and 20 minutes due to injuries. Bradford went on to lose both those games Started both the draws in the League Cup and Football League Trophy. Bradford lost both on penalties, one of them 9-8. Andy Dallas Loaned to Barrow - League 2 Had a total of about 20 minutes game time in 5 sub appearances in League and League Cup. Seems that Barrow signed him as they were short of a player to bring on as a time wasting exercise in the final minute. Started a Football League Trophy game against Bolton and scored a consolation goal late on. McAtee got one of the Bolton goals, his only goal so far. Kacper Lopata Loaned to Ross County - Scottish Premier Straight into the team for Kacper against Aberdeen, subbed after 80 minutes with the score 0-0. Aberdeen scored in injury time to win 1-0. Played the full match in the next game against Dundee which they won 2-0. Seems to be doing OK. Williams and Shaw continue to start every game, Kacper may be another at Ross County, but not been their long. The Hibs manager doesn't seem sure about Cadden yet and he's in and out. The rest are either back-up or surplus. Updated 16-Sep-24
Think it's fair to say that Scottish Championship is his level. He's done well in that division before, scoring goals for a few different clubs, but when they've been promoted to the Scottish Premier he's found it tough and soon been dropped from the team. Why we didn't take any notice of that when we signed him is anyone's guess.
I suppose it’s pretty normal for new signings to take time to be bedded in. We’ve done it ourselves on many occasions. Can’t see Cole ever been first choice but he probably knew that when he signed.
I seem to remember a few negative comments about Faal on RS last season from Donny fans questioning his attitude. He only scored 7 in 25 games for them before departing to Walsall for 20 more games (no goals). Not bothered if we don’t get him
Not sure where you'v got your stats from but he scored 6 goals in 9 starts for Walsall. He scored 14 league 2 goals last season in 29 starts. Plus another goal in the football league trophy. Not bad for a lad who was 20/21 and moving to 2 new clubs.
Well yeah, I wish it were that straight forward lol. But West Brom wouldn't be selling him, if he was that good.
is your criteria any forward sold by any team isn’t worth having because if he was any good the selling club would keep him? Narrows the field a tad…
You could say it then about every single striker in the world... that they offer us 'options', because they might score goals for us. I might be wrong about him, but Im not convinced that this lad Faal is any or much better, than what we've got.
Aww that's nice, but I'm in my early 50s now lol. The legs have gone, in fact no, they were never there to begin with!.
