What are people at the club seeing in him? He’s lightweight and gets muscled off the ball so easily. I know we are short of strikers but I’d be getting shut of him, he’s not good enough for league one.
He won’t make a career in the football league. Wish him the best but he’s non league at best. Not strong enough.
Again hate throwing shade at anyone but he’s just not at the required standard now and doubt he ever will be and I absolutely hate saying that about a lad from Barnsley.
Where do you get the impression that people at the club rate him? He only got a one year contract late on after the club allowed his deal to run down. The manager wants two new forwards & picks Cosgrove & Watters ahead of him. Jalo’s injured too who may well be ahead of him in the managers thoughts. So in all likelihood he’s 6th or at a push 5th choice striker in a weeks time. He’s a cheap option for the cup games & if we have an injury crisis. Once we get new forwards in then you’ll barely see him outside of the Bristol Motors Cup.
It’s not just about today is it. He’s not contributing anything whenever he plays for us. Take the game against Man Utd u21 where he offered nothing either.
I get that mate. After every game it gets mentioned, but that's my point, he's barely played today and it's fetched up again, in my opinion he isn't good enough for where we wanna be, but I just don't see the need to raise yet another post about him when he played for 5 minutes that's all mate
Yeah I know, but I didnt create the thread lol. I admit I couldn't understand him coming on that late today, it made little or no sense. I've said it for some time as well about De Geveigny, I don't think he's any good, and I think he's getting worse. But its harsh to pick him out when all of the defenders and keeper are at fault.
He doesn’t have any impact ever. He played from the start against Wigan and it was easy to overlook he was on the pitch.
It's weird for me because the few times I've seen him he's looked good, dangerous. Yet pretty much every game he's played and I've not been watching, everyone's said he's been poor. I do worry there's limited use for a striker who's short, not particularly quick and doesn't have the knack of being in the right place at the right time.
Yeah and it got mentioned at the time bud. It gets mentioned after every game. We know he isn't good enough, Clarke doesn't think so, otherwise he wouldn't want new recruits. You cannot fault his effort or desire though, and so I think it's a little harsh singling him out yet again despite being on the pitch for a matter of minutes.
Lay off the lad he's Barnsley through and through. Young lad wants to represent his club and proud of it. Might not be premium Ashley Ward or Neil Shipperley but he's up there with Danny Rose and Jacob Brown. #proud of them all.
I don't mind the criticism mate when it's warranted. I had my say about Connell & Phillips last match before today, had plenty on Earl, and on Clarke today. I just felt for the lad abit today, having another post made about him despite only playing a few minutes. I agree though, he should be proud, not many fans of clubs manage to play for their club, let alone multiple times and he's always shown passion & effort.
I wondered how long it would take for the focus to be shifted onto someone else now Styles has gone. If we are looking to bring another 2 or 3 strikers in. I'm pretty sure he will go out on loan again. Or given the opportunity to try his luck elsewhere. Can't fault his effort. And he may progress given a chance. Possibly in the Danny Rose mould.
He’s probably not up to the level that we need but good luck to the lad he’s living the dream in a fashion and i wish him the best in the future but can’t see it being with us.
Now I really have heard it all lol. He's just not good enough unfortunately, and its nothing personal against him of course. But if we're serious about promotion and wanting to do better than just survive back in the Championship... then like I say, Adie is not good enough I'm afraid.
