What a game tonight. Thing that lets him down is he trys to take everyone on. As we saw v Lincoln and other day he dont need to he can whip a cracking ball in. If theres players in box already get it in instead of trying to take men on But cracking start to season from him.
Playing in that position he had few defensive responsibilities. Superb performance. Reminded me a little of Disco at his best tonight.
He has all the physical attributes to be very good, if he can just add a bit of control to his brain. He does come across as a great lad too.
Always seen a player in him. He faced dogs abuse last year, and the start of this one from certain people who can't admit they may have been wrong. I said when he leaves this Club, the fan base will be upset, and he'll be leaving to go higher, and I stick to that. His attitude is second to none, and that counts for a lot at this level.
You know when he plays like he's really hyped up, and the defending team don't know how to handle him. And we don't even know what he's going to do next.
I thought he was motm Saturday. I genuinely think he's good, a bit bambi on ice but he has enough about him. He's unpredictable and if he adds quality to that. He won't be with us long.
Brilliant going forward. I agree he needs to make some better decisions when he's in good positions, but he's massively improved. Issue remains defensively and again today Mael was left stranded in a 2v1, I suspect that will be a relatively common occurrence, but, with the rate of improvement already, I think we'll be much more greatly rewarded with goals scored vs conceded due to his positioning. Sometimes its near impossible for him to get back, other times its poor judgement or switches off- but its a flaw in him drastically reduced so far. Very exciting player and hopefully continues his brilliant upwards trajectory! Man of the match for me today too, possible Watters too. Very close
One of the reasons I love Baz is that he's very obviously flawed. It's what makes watching him so interesting. I don't think even he knows what he's going to do next, which is half the fun. Hasn't taken the easy route into a good level of professional football, and seems to have a first-class attitude to keep improving himself. Hopefully he'll make the right-back slot his own, as I think he's got the potential to be ten times the player O'Keeffe will ever be. Plus as others have mentioned, he comes across as being an absolutely brilliant bloke. Very down to earth and seems to do loads of work in the local community. I hope he'll be at Barnsley for a long time to come.
I love the fact that he tries to take everyone on and would argue that’s his strength. O Keefe, Earl, etc would do well to have Barry in mind each time they turn to play the ball back to the centre halves.
Cotter MOM for me. Hopefully he will continue to improve. Good to see Yoganathan (sp) getting more game time. He definitely seems to be one higher up the prospects list. Didnt know whether to stick or twist off the ball defending our left at times but im sure the experience will help him.
