Thought he run his legs off and chased everything tonight / pressed well . Played his part in the win
True. However if a Barnsley fan cannot get pumped at the chance to start a South Yorkshire Derby against them, then that would have been a problem.
I think it’s the same with a lot in the squad - they don’t get a fair run of games - if anything I think marsh is trying too hard - there’s a decent player in there , but he could be running out of time at this level with us unfortunately- football seems a very cut throat business and you have to sometimes cut your losses if there’s not enough shown over a prolonged run of appearances .
I thought marsh played really well tonight harassed and chased. It was a good all round team performance. Cotter scraping the Motm for me. And i couldn't fault anyone. Barrow away please .
Worked really hard tonight and deserves a load of credit. Let’s not run away with the idea that he’s part of the answer to our attacking problems though.
I thought he did a lot of work and put a decent shift in and i can't see a way that he will score more than 3 or 4 goals a season.
He works hard. But he also rarely touches the ball and when he does he never looks particularly threatening. Plus he lacks any real pace or strength. Hopefully have a good career in lower leagues but I think it's time we moved him on.
My only concern is that I hope the board don’t think ‘ you see , we have plenty up top ‘ , pat themselves on the back and say how good they are - that’s how I felt it went when they stripped a few out of NCs squad and didn’t reinvest it in January (I’m not saying that was the only problem though) - it then came to bite us on the Ronson at the end of the season , but as if they’ve got away with it !
Why Barra, especially away, ehh Hooky kid. Btw, what are we up to now in the 3rd round, is it the last 32 or 64 ?.
Yep, Barrow was one I wanted in this round, amongst others. I didn’t expect them, or us for that matter, to be in the hat. A few Prem clubs coming in this round as well. I haven’t been to West Ham, Spurs or Arsenals new grounds so fingers crossed.
This should fill them all with massive confidence they won't have to work anyway near as hard all season. If they do they've massively failed.
I don't disagree with that. But we've had plenty who haven't put that work in, cost us a few quid and still only got 4 goals in a season. I don't mind him.
