Just that. I haven't felt like this after a Barnsley match since we lost to Everton in 2015.

Boo boys moaners stayed away, half the fans we normally get but much louder and better atmosphere than normal and the players responded to that.

Give.over. Haven't you.noticed the team gets booed off every time they don't win and gets clapped off if they win irrespective of the performance. Does my head in how fickle some of our fans are.

Like SD said the whole feel to the place was better last night, only the boo boys boo off the players not the genuine supporters.

Did they pause every 10 seconds on the pitch or was that just the Sky stream? Maybe just for the US broadcasted ads.

We were playing a local rival from a higher division and the expectation was low. The atmosphere is always better for those matches even when we've had 14,000 home fans there. I'm just saying that boo boys and moaners still want Barnsley to win and were in attendance last night. They don't boo every performance, just the ones we don't win. The same people clap the team off when we win. Two ST ticket holders who sit behind me booed the team.off in the two league games but got behind them last night. I don't think last night was reserved for Happy clappers only.

Unless we’re getting battered there should be no boo’s towards our team & new manager when everyone knows we’re still desperately short of forwards & he’s still getting to know the team.

The boo’s at the end on Saturday were pathetic.

I'm in total agreement with you. I've never booed a Barnsley team off in my life and dont really understand the concept of being a supporter and booing if we lose. The Mansfield game was a classic example. After 25 minutes, Clarke changed it and the guys battled away for 65 minutes but just fell short. If just one of those chances had gone in there would have been universal applause at the end but because we lost a certain section choose to boo. Never understood it.

    Agree.

I think Mansfield’s the one game this season where I’d argue we absolutely deserved to win with the chances we made 2nd half.

All of Cosgrove, Watters & Marsh missed what I’d describe as sitters.

I didn’t see the Lincoln game but from what I read we rode our luck in that one & got 3 or at least 2 points that we didn’t deserve.

No doubt they got cheered off there though.

I felt the togetherness like a warm blanket wrapped round my shoulders on a cold winter's night with a finger of malt whisky drizzling down my throat atop a full tummy of roast beef and its accompaniments which leave you feeling nicely plump yet wanting more.
    I watched it on ifollow.

Been like it since God was a lad sadly. I don't get the booing and dont like to hear it, The players know when they have been poor.

Similarly, slagging off players on social media is bonkers imo. Constructive criticism I get. (Certainly whilst at the club,)
Take William's. Some of the slagging off he got was unjustified imo. I certainly agree he was very poor last season but I put that down to him not playing his natural position. I also agree some went imo overboard as to how good he is. I'll not mind if he proves me wrong. As I allus thought he gave his best.

Sad to have missed it, missed the Northampton game too as we are in Egypt on holiday.

Managed to find some wifi today and have watched YouTube highlights of both games. It looked to me like a goalkeeping error, arguably two, cost us against the cobblers and that we played pretty well against Sheff Utd.

Nice to see Watters bag a couple too - I’ve said he needed a goal for his confidence and now he’s got a couple hopefully he can show he has ability at this level.

As i say though, sad to have missed it. Not just because it was the first home win in a long time, but I suspect even though the home stands were not full that the energy/vibe would have been very different. It would have been nice to be in a more positive environment.

Hopefully the team kicks on from here and everyone gets behind them.
