The likelihood is that he'll go out on loan, but won't until Luton are comfortable they have cover. He was on the bench for them last week. I guess it's about judging whether it's better to wait for someone like that being made available, as opposed to signing arguably inferior quality players on a free early in the window.

You could also argue that as clubs get increasingly desperate, the better options get picked up by teams able to offer better terms or pay higher fees.

The later you leave it, the higher the risk, the higher the scarcity.

 

It's almost like good attacking players are majorly in demand, expensive, and easy for teams to identify through goal involvement stats.
