Positive vibes today..

Here's hoping Mladen's fingers completely withdrawn from all orifice's and two or three forwards to come into the club today..who we may have even heard of..

 

He has got to get it right today otherwise it’ll leave a permanent stain on his reign and he’s only been in the job less than a year!

Can’t fathom being left with just 2 strikers until January, let’s not go down the route of ‘well we can look at freebies after the window’ either…..

 

Correct, this is ultimately on him, the excuses aren’t good enough, we knew where we needed strengthening before the end of last season ffs. It’s been a shambles but he’s got today to pull something out of the bag. 2 strikers minimum.

We've made some pretty decent signings in other areas of the pitch, but the failure to sign a quality striker will very much limit our prospects this season.

One last day to find out. I've kept out of the speculation on this, as I don't go on X & have little idea about they players we've been linked to.

Here's hoping we can get one in at least. I had hoped having moved Styles on we'd have a bit on the kitty.

We currently have Cosgrove, Watters, Jalo (injured), and Marsh. That’s not particularly sub-standard for this league, and Watters has had a good start to the season. I get why people want the team strengthened (and why Clarke thinks it will help in his job), but it’s not the crisis some want to make out.

 

Absolutely I hate been negative come on dof show us what your all about, judge us by our actions ureds.

 

We definitely need a striker but only if it's a good one. Of the ones we've been linked with only possibly Taylor and definitely Edvardson have the stats to suggest they can improve on what we've got. I'm particularly disappointed we didn't get Edvardson. None of the rest, Faal, Ennis etc look remotely like an improvement and I really hope we don't throw good money away on someone like that.
If there's no one available on a permanent who definitely improves us then I'd rather we just pulled in a loanee to use as backup to Cosgrove, Watters and Jalo.

I think that’s mid-table League 1 at best. We’re aiming for the playoffs or higher. So I’d say we need another striker at least

 

If we messes up today I think his position becomes untenable.

Im not bothered if we've heard of them or not, I enjoy the intrigue with a complete unknown. The bottom line is are they improving the squad, that's down the the recruitment.

 

I'd agree. We've basically replaced our first choice strikers last year with our 3rd choice striker, another who couldn't get in the match day squad and a youth team player who still looks nowhere near good enough for league one. We need someone at the level of cole or mcatee to even consider a playoff push.
