Not seen this posted before on here. If someone has apologies. If I've missed it, others will have. Had only one extended evening with this man at a pre season friendly, that turned out a bit Messi. Some sublime recollections of Covid, Val & his style of play, but lots of background. It's on Youtube, so I'm sharing it. It is brilliant.
Just watching it. It's a good watch, and there are some great behind-the-scenes stories. I'd forgotten that people shelled out for season tickets in covid with the likelihood of never seeing a game.
Brilliant to watch and good to see YT keeping so well. Most insightful thing for me from that video... the fact players and people at the club do read socials and message boards. I was (naively) surprised at that. Knowing this, I will certainly choose my words more carefully in future and bear that in mind when airing my criticisms or thoughts.
Thanks for sharing this. There's quite a few on here that needs to watch this. Might open the eyes a little bit. Big loss for BFC Whitey leaving. Some big shoes to fill.
Yeah some great incite. The story about Big Val and what a great guy he is and how much he gave to local charities is worth a listen alone. Big loss indeed. Hope we see a few more appearances of YT with Neil this season.
If players do read the BBS........ MAX WATTERS YOU ARE ******* AMAZING. WE ALL LOVE YOU MAX. KEEP THE STREAK UP x
And then when we could see a game (play-off 1st leg) we had to enter a ballot and then if we were lucky enough to get tickets we had to pay for them. I got a season ticket the following season despite my misgivings and was then turfed out of my seat so more tickets could be sold to Sheffield United fans. I asked for a refund and I’ve not been back much since then.
It was my fault we missed the train. I owed you that one. Especially as I got selfies with Hecky, Conor & Winnall via you. We are missing your input at Oakwell, but I fully understand why you decided it was time for a new challenge.
Nice to see whitey sticking up for a local lad. Who ran his socks off today . Would run thru brick walls for BFC. But apparently he is not good enough.
Thanks enjoyed that sound like he had enough of long hours on average pay I would imagine. It's a shame because he loves the club and I'm sure he went the extra mile on more than one occasion, hopefully the comms will get better as he's clearly missed.
