There's always criticism of the board whether its shocking shirts, crappy catering or muddling mismanagement. I've slagged them myself and a lot of criticism is valid. Some people still want them out. However, I think they've made a genuine attempt to improve the quality of the team on the pitch this summer. They've had a genuine go at it and tried to get decent quality in. No scattergun hopeful punts this time I think. They may actually be learning, finally, that a team needs building and have attempted to build. It may all backfire and players may not perform, manager may not get the best out of them etc. and if that happens they'll be criticised again. At the moment though I think they deserve a bit of praise for at least trying to make the team better. They get slagged off all the time so I think the balance ought to be re-addressed a tad. EDIT: Just noticed that there's a similar thread. Sorry.
Couldn't agree more. With the constraints we know we have to work with, I think they have made a decent fist of this window. I am happy with where we now stand. As you say, it may work, it may not, but it's not for their lack of trying. They have done what they can. Just need to back the manager and the team now and see what happens.
I think some of our higher earners departing and moving on some deadwood has allowed for investment in a select few that should help us be more competitive.
