Band with confident Manchester swagger who released their best work 20 odd years ago now need some cash to fund their twilight years so they rip off their fans with predatory ticket pricing. How very out there.

 

I really don't get the hysteria about Oasis. I know everyone has different taste but there are waaaay better bands to go and see for a lot cheaper. They're in the 'music for w@nkers' category for me.

Just googled it and there was actually a Scottish Tribute Band called "No Way Sis" who splig up in 1996 due to lack of demand!

 

They released a cover of I'd Like To Teach The World to sing which actually charted and they performed on Top Of The Pops.

I saw a clip yesterday Oasis won some kind of award and it was presented to them by Michael Hutchence (who loved oasis) and Noel called him a has-been to his face,

 

That was Brit Awards 1995 (I think) - wait till you see what happens at Oakwell 18 months later!

 

You really should write a book. I'd absolutely buy it.

Ironically, my missus and I did one of our walks on Saturday, a 5 mile loop from KX. We'd been talking of doing it for ages but circumstance prevented it. It's so long ago we'd last done it that we'd completely forgotten what themes were in it. It turned out it was littered with music references. Pubs where Liam Gallacher drank, the downstairs flat where Wonderwall was written... A good day.

 

Paul Heaton is known to be one of the good guys!

 

Saw Paul Heaton last year and he put money behind the bar of about 10 local pubs to pay for drinks for those with tickets.

Great songs, great bloke.

 

Both sites are cloud based, so should have almost unlimited scaling at the front end to cope with demand. The problem is most likely to be with the back-end scaling - they don't need a massively concurrent database most of the time so probably can't justify the costs of provisioning one for a day then having to move back afterwards (staffing costs + virtual hardware costs, etc.).
