Nice one mate agree with all that…..but there’s no way on earth Benson is a more talented player than Luca Connell. I get the sentiment, and he’s an excellent footballer but Connell is a step above i reckon :)

10 points from 5 games. I’d have taken that before the season kicked off.

Barry deserved a goal today with the shots he had. If their goalie wasn’t having a worldie, one of them would’ve gone in.

We once paid £1.2m for Luke Thomas.

WTF? His best contribution today was falling over, with nobody near him.

Should really have had a draw from that and a win v Cobblers as well, so could have been on 13 today.

When I've seen him I really like Benson. He's a high quality football, which is what you'd expect when you weigh up we paid a million quid for him. Hopefully he stays in one piece. With him I'd rate our prospects much higher. If it wasn't for his injury record he'd surely be playing championship football.

Pretty much agree with this. My thinking is if we can improve in 3 areas we will be a tram challenging at the top end for automatic. If not we might be around the fringes of playoffs.

Taking more of the chances we create is an obvious one but has and will bit us back if it continues.

Defence needs to settle and understand each other better. DeG seems to be full of fouls and we dont seem to look as well organised as we should.

finally the point on giving the ball away. It seemed yesterday that Connell in particular but also Phillips gave the ball away from either misplaced short passes or dwelling on the ball. Keep it better and move it better and our game management will improve as well as our all round defensive and attacking play.

These seem simple things to me that make a big difference

A big thing for me so far is quite a few players appear to have improved under Clarke.

cotter has clearly been instructed not to do 47 step overs , and instead just deliver it quickly.

Cosgrove looks better, Watters sharper etc

I think this bodes well. Excited to see how things develop and if that’s DKDs standard level of performance he could be the difference between promotion and not.

Said the same thing about Clarke improving players on the Barry Cotter thread.

As you say, bodes well for continued improvement across the board.

Some pretty balanced comments on the Gas fans forum. Always had a softspot for Rovers. First league game of the season for me yesterday (£30) and have to say I thought Roberts looked in really good form. Defence looks far, far better.

Let's hope we don't get de-railed at any point then.

Last 3 games have been very good on the eye, apart from a few mind blowing defensive errors. I like this team so far much more than any from post the Val era. There is still a lot of work to be done, but we look like a top 6 team to me at this stage. A lot of promise. It still needs to be delivered, but I'm hopeful.
