A real pain looks our home game on the 12th October (Reading) will more than be likely called off, meaning another night match and less likely to be able to attend. Less away fans etc UEFA should compromise clubs because of there second rate competition. There should be an option for clubs to be able to play another fixture with a team not effected if it is agreed by both teams. Also save probable fixture congestion later in the season.
I believe clubs should be able to plug the gap if there’s 3 players who are missing, be it with kids or reserves.
Maybe any player who hasn't started in a first team league game. ( not including bench or cup competions when they may be given games) with any club. Over the last month or so should be discounted from the criteria. Its ludicrous. Our fixture pile up towards the end of the season points that out.
If Reading gets postponed that means our next Saturday traditional 3 pm home league game is NOVEMBER 23rd against Wigan. Crazy when we are only just in September and it's going to put people off season tickets, but then they are priced out paying on the day.
Up till now fortunately we haven’t been victim of the crazy new kick off times, until Stockport the long distance even home games 12:30 kick offs are a nail in the coffin. I’m easy with 12:30 kick offs living in the town and if I could drink I could go for a relaxing couple of hours after but for lots, logistically it’s not great.
This. It's a joke that teams at this level can have games called off because a first teamer has been called up by the Central African Republic and 2 reserve players called up to Mongolia U21s. If you can't manage without one or two first teamers then tough. Burton v Crawley yesterday being a prime example, as if those two have 6 internationals between them. Absolute farce.
Who should Reading have played yesterday and how many players of theirs were called up? If we can try and get the majority of our games on International weekends when others aren’t, if we take advantage of it - it’s going to make a massive difference in terms of not having fixtures built up late on in the season.
I know yer wassack was just questioning whether we'd had Saturday evening ko's b4. Tha knows they didn't call me Mcqiltzeimers for nowt lol. I've moved btw if you didnt know.
This Sky deal is going to kill clubs like us. Loads will renege on renewing next season as there are hardly any 3pm Saturday games. The club makes little from the deal too right now as only 12% of money goes to L1 clubs. 80% goes to those in the Championship.
we need to be in champ then, hopefully more games we play the better we get then sign 1or 2 to make us even better.
