    Jalo to come back, Lofthouse can't get a start. Russell on International duty. Benson firing in reserve. Humphry's on the bench and Watters injured.

    Our squad under Johnson/Hecky was absurd. Probably one of the all time best L1 squads and easily the best we've had I'd say (though hope I'm eating my words at the end of the season)

    That squad was stacked from head to toe. Look at the players we had who couldn’t even get a game most weeks. I saw a stat somewhere, was something like 22 of our 27 starters that year went on to either play for their national side, a premier league side or a foreign top division side.

    I rate this squad but it’s not in the same class as the 2016 or 2019 squads.

    I’d say Duff’s squad was probably better too.

    The team that ended the 2016 season basically had a run at the play offs in the championship until we sold off our best 2 players.

    What a couple of decent signings can do eh? 9 days ago we were cacking our pants over such a threadbare squad. 2 strikers come in and we're worldbeaters ;) I do agree though it is a good squad, I just hope Brum and Rovrum have wasted all their money on trying to buy promotion.

    I would go as far to say.
    The first 15 minutes of the game we absolutely steam rolled them.
    That as got to be up there with the best First 15 minutes, I've witnessed apart from the first game in the Premier league.

    Spot on. My Dad's a right miserable so and so and he was gutted when Bristol scored because of how brilliant we were.

    If this group gets promoted from the division, it can be compared to the 05/06, 15/16 and 18/19 vintage.

    Unsure without checking upcoming fixtures, but with all due respect to our opponents faced so far, I can’t imagine we’ve played anyone likely to finish in the top six yet.

    On paper though, it’s certainly a squad with great midfield depth and you’d like to think, ‘enough’ up front, out wide and at the back to compete for a top six spot.

    Two points per game gets you in the promotion picture, for sure. So let’s hope this is the start of another special season.
