    Evening all,

Hope you don't mind the seemingly annual post about my cycling fundraising for the RBL. I've already done RideLondon100 back in May and on 5th September set off again from Danson House in London heading for Paris, arriving early afternoon on Sunday 8th. We arrive quite close to the finish of the Paralympic Marathon event I believe.

If anyone is willing and able to support the RBL then the link below should take you to my fundraising page. I've fully covered the costs of the event entry myself, so every penny donated goes to the RBL and their Poppy Appeal. Thank you again for any donations and support.

Would you like this to be made a Sticky?

If so, I can do that. Just let me know in the future when to unstick it.

Mate, that would be perfect if you would, very kind of you to offer.

I generally post an update once I'm back from Paris, so maybe unstick it then?

    Thank you for that.

Just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for the donations and support from fellow BBS'ers. £1,765 + Gift Aid raised.

Missed what sounded like an excellent performance on Saturday whilst completing this year's Pedal to Paris. A different finishing line this year as the Arc de Triomphe was in an exclusion zone for the Olympics, but we were granted permission to finish the ride at Les Invalides, where the Olympic and Paralympic road races also finished. Was quite staggering how many people were still lining the route when 70 of us trundled through on Sunday evening.

The weather during the first 160 miles we did on Thursday and Friday was dreadful - windy, hail, thunderstorms and non stop rain, a bit of an improvement over the weekend.

I could go on and on about some of the stories I've heard en route from competitors who are currently serving, are veterans, have lost their children who were on active duty and so on. All topped off by seeing a Veteran who suffered horrendous head and limb injuries 40 years ago in Northern Ireland complete the 285 miles on a tricycle. Made moaning about the rain sound quite pathetic.

    Thank you again.
