from an email I received ..... "To celebrate Barnsley FC taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford, Vitruvian Dental Studio are giving you the chance to WIN! ⚽ You could bag yourself 2 tickets to a Barnsley FC home game AND free teeth whitening at Vitruvian Dental Studio! ✨"
And the ones that can't don't have teeth to whiten Slightly off topic, but does anyone remember in the early 2000s when the club ran a raffle to win an old Jag? Think it was around the time we were in admin. I vaguely remember it being parked between the Ponte and West Stand, on that raised bit. Or did I dream it?
I definitely remember a raffle to win a car and it being parked on the raised bit between pointy and west but I thought it was a brand new car from one of the sponsors. It was 20 years ago though and I can't remember who we played in the last home game
I think there was 2. One was a Jag which was donated by a fan, and then a few weeks later, a brand new Kia Rio, donated by the Kia garage just off Ponte Road.
Can't remember a raffle ever taking place tbh. But centenary annual prize was a car. And I do remember one or even a couple being displayed in the ground. Hazeldene or Burrows i think. Over many yrs. But that used to be taken place in June. Now £6k Gerries mrs won one.
You mean like Father Dougal winning Bishop Brennan's prize of a car with a fixed raffle draw ..... "Ticket number E.L.E.V.E.N."
No. Bit of a controversy. The lottery managers wife in the early days. The cost and prize money has never increased since day one. So that's why I think it goes straight into the acadamy nowadays. The profit that is. Another piece of useless information £1k then would be the equivalent of £3.71k today. So was a very good amount then. To create the same amount of value today would mean a lottery number would cost £7.50. Hence at the time, 4 of us shared and still do. Won it twice. Bro in law started a number with his mate and won once. He carried on when his mate dropped out. Won it again. Twice. Still in it. £1k still a nice win though. Especially if doing it on your own. Other prizes done at quarterly intervals. £6k yearly.
