Heart 80’s seems to be my go to recently……..if my daughter gets in, 17, it rangs from house to indie then baseline to Evelyn King on her apple music
Am I the only person still listening to CDs in the car? I always seem to be ten years behind when it comes to car technology. I'm sure I was still playing cassette tapes decades after everyone else had moved on to CDs... Anyway, at the moment it's AC/DC, Boston, Jimi Hendrix, Joy Division, Rainbow, Stereophonics, and Terrorvision.
BBC Radio 6. Craig Charles 1pm til 4. New music, album tracks from the past, jar of ska, trunk of punk, plinth of synth etc.
What's a CD? I used to think I was the dogs doodahs when I had a 10 CD Changer in the boot back in the day. I am trying to rack my memory but don't think I have even had a CD player in any car I have had in the last 10 years. Things moved on to using memory sticks instead of CDs when they started putting USB ports in the car, and then, when Android Auto and Apple Carplay were developed, streaming became the default.
Years ago I used to have a ford orion ghia (wish I’d still got it) that had a cd changer in the boot, lads I worked with got my keys filled it with Bon Jovi cds…the b******ds
Various.. start off with Rossi on the drive to work.. then Talksport up to getting fed up of it.. late morning midday.. Classic FM. Then when mellowed out.. turn it off most of the afternoon..
I don't mind admitting I'm a dinosaur. But I'm currently on the lookout for a new car, so I guess I'll finally move up to a memory stick. I don't have Spotify, so don't imagine I'll ever be streaming. I'll miss my CDs though. I usually convert audio CDs into mp3 files and then burn them to a disc for car use. That way I can get about 10 albums to a disc.
Mostly R2, sometimes greatest hits, but we're between Scarborough and Bridlington so DAB doesn't know whether it wants to be on North Yorks or whatever the east yorks is. Coast radio, 6music occasionally.
The last vw golf I had didn't have a cd player (I thought). I was tidying it out on the day I sold it and found cd player in the glove box!
Radio 1 is good but they don't like people presenting solo do they Nat and Vicky on a Sunday morning for all the noughties tunes.
Dear Reds, living here on the Isle of Man, DAB radio reception is virtually none existent. So in my 1973 VW Beetle I listen to CD's, most of which I bought new in the 1980's. My favourite, reminding me of the proper way to talk, it Dave Cherry's Old Club Trip album. Stairfoot Round a bout is easy listening and sing along to. When driving in UK, then it is DAB time, with Absolute 70's and 80's with a bit of Dearne FM when close to home.
