Comical that The posters on here who are now posting their concerns about Gifts etc to Labour MPs, yet posted nothing during the previous 14 years of Tory Govts. I can only think it’s faux ‘outrage’ and/or coming out of the ‘hurting Tory’ stage back to their Tory apologists position.

 

To be fair I don't think there's many who defended Boris's expenses or Rishi wanting to heat his swimming pool etc.

 

Someone I know needs help for an eating disorder, but because they aren't at deaths door there's little help on the NHS, as eating disorders are chronically underfunded.

Then I have my MP Rachel Reeves accepting 6k+ of free clothing. Sure there's no correlation and causation here, but the optics are f.ucking *****. Awful woman.

Can you point me to the post in this thread where someone is 'posting their disgust'. Only i've looked and i can't see it.

I certainly wasn't.

While the current controversy is being hyped up by the billionaire controlled media (Mail, Express Twatter etc) when they have literally done nothing wrong, I think Labour have made a massive mistake with all this. In order to distance themselves further from the previous corrupt governments, they should have refused all donations. All they have ended up doing is reinforcing the widely held view amongst the electorate that "they are all the same".

 

Should've known this was coming. Any slight controversy, above board or otherwise, and the client media will absolutely slaughter Labour. 14 years of scandal, treason and the institutional starving of schoolchildren, nurses and disabled folk, but as soon as the tables turn it's "End donations!" "PR voting system now!" "Answer a straight question!" "WON'T ANYONE THINK OF THE VULNERABLE??"

Total non-story. If MP's of all parties didn't frequently receive gifts or donations then there wouldn't be a members' register. The only reason this has reached the public eye is because Keir and co openly and transparently declared the donations, etc. There is no suggestion whatsoever of any person(s) exercising any influence over them. Won't stop the Tory media kicking up more s***e for another five years though. The favourite for the leader Tory leadership (Bunga Bob), on the other hand .......................

 

I have no beef with it whatsoever. I've done 3 lots of corporate football this season already so I can hardly talk. I just want to ride that gravy train, baby...
