Did I dream it but was the bar the same dimensions as the goal posts on a football pitch?

    Hight & width.

You may have a point, as i look back all misty eyed at the place.
Loved the Social Club btw. It seemed to be 'point central' to me and my mates.
    Jeeeeez! The memories! :)

Went from the Ponte end into the social club at half time to join the supporters club and it was like stepping into a magical world. Back room had Kev Nutting, Steve, Roger and Reg in there and Dave Clowery too with Fudge doing the rounds. I was hooked straight away. Loved the place, it was like a cosy blanket and they had great pork pies too

Went on loads of away trips with them as jist a young kid, quite often on away days when the club itself didnt run a bus. Some great memories of playing other teams supporters clubs on away trips.

I used to play for them in the 80s and early 90s. You probably travelled on same bus? We certainly didn’t lose many games back in the day

It had a brilliant set of lads and a fantastic team that was feared and envied by other supporters clubs across the country. Glad I played my small part of it.
    Loved every second of it.

We must have done. That's the same time frame we used to travel with them.

Did you go to Cambridge away?
Driver took us to Cambridge City by mistake!! I'm sure when we arrived at the Abbey, the game was postponed.

Did anybody on here watch the 1988 Liverpool v Wimbledon cup final on the big screen in the social club?
If so, what are your memories of the event?

Same time frame as me and my mate before we defected to the Dove inn/Maceys in 93/94. First away game we did without parental supervision was Wolves away when we hammered 'em 5 nil at Molineux, not a bad way to start supporting t'super reds ont ruuaerd ............sithi.

Is that Cuz who runs coaches from Courthouse / Eadens bar on the back row, at the end on the right? There are a couple more who seem familiar on the back row. Third from the left and the big goalkeeper.

Yep. Cuz, Bully and Keith on back row. Cuz and Mick Barker (RIP) used to sort the travel, and Stew Wraith arranged the games with the opposing teams. No internet, satnav or mobiles then so more difficult.

Back row. Morley, Zazlos, Thrumble, Hughes, Bullivant, Wood (club historian) Wright, S Curry

Front row. Housley, Wraith, Fitzytyke, Linacre, Wigham, B Curry, RedAdair, Harvey.

A few regulars missing from that pic as well. Chris Hill, Chris Tarn, Christian ??

@Wuz1964, did you play for us a little bit earlier?

Gavin Talbot RIP, Mick Short, Dean Gardener, Matt Law, Gareth Wassell, Mark Worth, smith twins all maybe a bit earlier.

Bri and Steve Curry go back to the early mid 80s when the lads first started playing, and I think some of them played together for the Hope at Cundy Cross. Ged Thornton and Bri Sykes RIP ran both teams if I remember correctly.

over about 10 years there was quite a turnover in players.
