Foul or no foul if we hadn't tried to defend a 1 goal lead for the majority of the game it wouldn't matter.
There’s no way he’s going to give a nd pen when he’s also turned down a big appeal for them and already given us one earlier. Doesn’t mean he’s right though.
They don’t signal anymore with their flag because they talk to each other on the microphone system You said how often do you see it the answer is you don’t because of the point above
Very good point. Plus it's into injury time. And it's not absolutely nailed on. I think it's a penalty, I think the reaction of their player (daren't look up, hoping everything goes away) is a huge tell, but the points you made are why the ref didn't give it. He's human and every one of us is influenced by the situation we're in.
Agreed. We put ourselves in a position where we were relying on a 50/50 incident for another chance to win the game.
I thought the ref had a good game last night. We only started looking to go forward when they equalised which was the main problem. We can't do anything about the ref missing a pen etc we can about our performance.
Just googled this point and apparently the assistant ref signals for a foul irrespective of whether it’s occurred in or outside the penalty box
Yep, I also thought he got a lot more right than wrong. Did very well not to be fooled by their dive in the box.
When we play really well then we can look for excuses the ref or pitch or whatever. But when you defend a 1 goal lead for 80 mins then attack when they equalise it doesn't cut it with me.
From my angle (West Lower) it was a nailed on pen, I've seen the highlights and it doesn't do it justice. He would have had a point blank shot on target, their defenders took him out and not got near the ball.
Shouldn’t matter whether we play good, bad, or indifferent, the opinion of the ref should be as you see it. Can’t excuse the ref for poor decisions just because we play bad, or try to say we’re looking for excuses. I think we got what we deserved yesterday, that second half was as poor as I’ve seen us this season. Back to the point though, poor performances are not a reason to give excuses for poor ref decisions.
