Also the easiest start I’d say too. Some tough fixtures coming up that will tell us where we’re heading.

Yesterday was the start of a tough run for the first time this season if we are looking at league positions. Let's see where we are in another 5-6 games. If we are still in the top six fair play to Clarke.

With this squad, in league 1 and against...

    Lincoln
    Stevenage
    Mansfield
    Stockport
    Bristol Rovers
    Crawley
    Northampton
    Burton

Half of that lot will be struggling at the wrong end of the table.

I don’t think they have. I think it’s the performances and tactics that are in question rather than the points tally.

For me our most comfortable win was at Crawley, who I thought were awful and still think will go straight back down. Best we’ve played? Probably Sheff United in the cup.

Everything else has just been hard work, and sometimes of our own making.

Worth noting that we are 3 points better off than Duffs season at the minute, but Duff then went onto win three and draw the other of his next four games. So this best start to a season will be soon outdated.

Wycombe, Huddersfield, Blackpool and Charlton will be tougher opponents than most of the teams we’ve played so far. Even Reading at home is a difficult one seeing as we haven’t beaten them at Oakwell in donkeys. If we come out of that lot with seven points we’ll have done well.
